CU hires former Minnesota offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Sanford. Thoughts?
- Karl Dorrell says he knows what he's doing in hiring coaches. Guess I'll have to trust him - for one more year. This will either be a new beginning ... or the beginning of the end ... for Dorrell (38%, 150 Votes)
- I like it. Already has 17 years experience coaching at age 39. Offensive coordinator experience? Check. Noted recruiter? Check. Can help develop quarterbacks? Check. Works for me (32%, 125 Votes)
- So, we're picking up a guy which Minnesota fired? The Golden Gophers were 115th in passing offense. Color me disappointed (30%, 121 Votes)

CU releases its 2022 Pac-12 schedule. Thoughts?
- I just wish we could go back a few years in time, and not schedule such difficult non-conference games every year. CU starts in the hole every September, while other Pac-12 teams coast to 3-0 records (37%, 79 Votes)
- I sure hope that the Buffs get some mid-season success, because November - Oregon; at USC; at Washington; Utah - could get ugly (32%, 68 Votes)
- I like it. After a tough non-conference slate (TCU, at AFA, at Minnesota), the Buffs hit some of their most winnable games (UCLA, at Arizona, Cal, at Oregon State). Win early and build some momentum (31%, 65 Votes)
Start Date: December 16, 2021 @ 6:13 pm
End Date: No Expiry
How would you grade CU's Recruiting Class of 2022 after the Early Signing Day?
- B ... Good recruits across the board, but the Class is lacking in star quality, and in help in the trenches. I'm assuming the lines will be bolstered through the Transfer Portal (57%, 236 Votes)
- C ... No four-star recruits ... Only a handful of Colorado kids ... Swings and misses at Signing Day announcements. A meh Class after a meh 2021 season (23%, 94 Votes)
- An A ... Rivals has CU as the No. 4 Class in the Pac-12 (two of the three teams ranked higher have more signees). Fans haven't been paying attention, but Dorrell & Co. put together a strong Class (10%, 41 Votes)
- D ... Until or unless CU decides to commit resources to recruiting, and hire good recruiters as coaches, CU will continue to struggle (10%, 41 Votes)
Start Date: December 15, 2021 @ 6:06 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Signing Day, 2021! What are your expectations from CU's signing day announcements?
- I'm still hoping that there will be a surprise or two (here's looking at you, four-star DE Samuel Okunlola!) to help me find joy in the Class of 2022 (48%, 174 Votes)
- A strong Class, with little drama. The Buffs are currently sitting with the No. 2 Class in the Pac-12 (take that, haters!). This will be a fun Wednesday! (27%, 98 Votes)
- Not a bad Class in terms of rankings, but that's mostly due to other Pac-12 schools having smaller classes/new coaches rather than anything CU is doing (25%, 93 Votes)
Start Date: December 14, 2021 @ 5:23 pm
End Date: No Expiry
CU picks up a commitment from a Buff legacy, three-star athlete Oakie Salave'a. Thoughts?
- CU has lost some of its ties to American Samoa over the years. Hopefully picking up the No. 1 prospect - and the starting quarterback - will help restart the pipeline to the Pacific islands (56%, 180 Votes)
- Sounds like a good pickup to me. Salave'a is 6'2", 185-pounds, a leader and a winner. His father was a good player and a great leader for the Buffs. Works for me! (31%, 99 Votes)
- Another two-star prospect (Rivals) on the eve of Signing Day. I would like to say I'm optimistic about this Class, but it's getting more and more difficult to have faith in this coaching staff (13%, 44 Votes)
Start Date: December 13, 2021 @ 5:55 pm

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
