SEC and Pac-12 commissioners meet with U.S. Senators to try and find a path to NIL legislation. Thoughts?
- Kliavkoff: “Either the NCAA is going to get its act together in enforcing this, or I’m going to be pushing for a smaller group to figure out how to create and enforce the NIL rules". Go George! (54%, 74 Votes)
- I'm glad to see that the situation has gotten so bad so fast that commissioners are getting involved. Fingers crossed that there will be some positive results from these meetings (26%, 36 Votes)
- CU athletic director Rick George was part of a committee which spent two years trying to get headway on national legislation on NIL, with no success. Meetings generate sound bites, but no results (20%, 26 Votes)

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith on CFP breaking away from the NCAA: "We [can] create our own rules, create our own governance structure, have our own enforcement". Thoughts?
- It's already too late. The foxes were left in charge of the hen house when the NCAA couldn't get NIL legislation passed, and let the Transfer Portal become a "highest bidder" exchange (47%, 76 Votes)
- As Smith put it: "At the end of the day, we need different rules". The divide between the Power Five and the rest of college football will only grow. Time to break away (33%, 54 Votes)
- I agree with Rick George that college football needs somebody to oversee the sport in the same way college basketball is run with Dan Gavitt, who is the senior vice president of basketball at the NCAA (20%, 32 Votes)

Which of the Buff free agents - Mustafa Johnson, Nate Landman, or Carson Wells - has the best chance to make an NFL roster this fall?
- Carson Wells - NFL.com profile: "He has good play strength and excellent eyes with the ability to process and respond to play design like an inside linebacker" (49%, 106 Votes)
- Nate Landman - NFL.com profile: "Four-year starter with excellent intangibles ... Good ability to key and diagnose the blocking scheme" (42%, 91 Votes)
- Mustafa Johnson - NFL.com profile: "He's a plus athlete with good balance and change of direction to bolster his pass rush when he's on the move" (9%, 18 Votes)

Reports: Jabari Walker to hire an agent and declare for the NBA Draft; four-star transfer commit Bobi Klintman de-commits. Thoughts?
- A tough day for CU men's basketball. It's not a surprise that Walker has opted to go pro, but it hurts that his assumed replacement, Bobi Klintman, has also defected (57%, 106 Votes)
- Another day, another CU loss of talented players. If the South Park guys (or other donors) don't step up soon, there won't be anyone left in the Champions Center (or Events Center) to cheer for (29%, 54 Votes)
- They are still just reports, but if both prove true, this is a big blow. CU was projected by ESPN to be a tournament team before ... I wonder if CU will still rate an NCAA bid projection (14%, 26 Votes)

CU shut out of the NFL Draft for the first time since 2016. Thoughts?
- I'm afraid this is just the beginning. With CU's young stars leaving town for more money (sorry, opportunities), CU won't be having any draft picks for the foreseeable future (38%, 82 Votes)
- Not unexpected. Carson Wells had a shot, but Nate Landman is too injury prone. Move on - nothing to see here (34%, 74 Votes)
- Texas didn't have any picks, either (same for eight other Power Five schools). Oh, and Oregon and Utah had only one apiece. Not worried (28%, 60 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
