Vic So'oto, hired by Cal, refutes Karl Dorrell's statement. So'oto: “Proximity to ‘support’ was not on the list of my reasons to leave CU". Thoughts?
  • It is what it is. CU has lost many coaches before (see: Tucker; Leavitt; many others). I'm more interested in what Dorrell & Co. will do to try and make it right for CU going forward (52%, 152 Votes)
  • Suspicions confirmed - CU outbid for a good young coach with recruiting abilities. Another day; another story confirming CU isn't able/willing to be a competitive Power Five program (47%, 136 Votes)
  • Well, So'oto did say that he was grateful for the opportunity to coach outside linebackers at Cal. Perhaps he really did just want to expand his coaching resume (1%, 2 Votes)

CU announces defensive line coach Vic So'oto is leaving to return to California for "family reasons". Thoughts?
  • Just another day in the life of "CU is not allowed to have nice things". Can't imagine CU will be able to find a decent replacement with less than a month before the start of spring practices (37%, 107 Votes)
  • We don't know the whole story here, so we need to, at least for now, give So'oto the benefit of the doubt. If he ends up at another Pac-12 school, though, I will not be a happy camper (35%, 102 Votes)
  • I'm waiting for the punch line. Wait, are you kidding me? So'oto didn't look at a map before he took the job? I'm calling BS on the rationale (28%, 84 Votes)

Tad Boyle to his team after the win over No. 2 Arizona: "When you play like that, you can beat anybody". Thoughts?
  • Objectively, beating the No. 2 team in the nation gives you a shot at every game. But, realistically, this is likely not a result which can be repeated often enough in Vegas to win the Pac-12 (65%, 146 Votes)
  • Anyone who watched the Arizona game Saturday would have to agree. If Arizona is the No. 2 team in the nation, and a No. 1 seed in the tournament, no reason why the Buffs can't run the table in Vegas (27%, 61 Votes)
  • Anyone who watched the Arizona State game Thursday night would have to question that proposition. The Buffs had a great game against Arizona, but are just as likely to lay an egg in Vegas (8%, 18 Votes)

Colorado 79, No. 2 Arizona 63. Thoughts?
  • A great, great win! A balanced attack in front of a national audience and a sell out crowd ... this will go down as one of the best games in CU history! (55%, 148 Votes)
  • Will the Tad haters from Friday's message boards please raise your hand and repeat after me: "Tad Boyle is the best coach in CU history" (23%, 61 Votes)
  • Quite the bipolar team. The team which looked terrible against Arizona State dominated Arizona. If Tad Boyle could get consistent play out of this team, they would be tourney bound (22%, 60 Votes)

College football attendance at its lowest rate since 1981; Pac-12 lowest since inception. Thoughts?
  • I'm just glad - and somewhat surprised - that CU was at 92% of capacity last season. It's a testament to the Buff Nation that CU fans continue to support the program through thick and thin (50%, 94 Votes)
  • Let's give it another year or two before drawing conclusions. There were plenty of fans worried about attending large gatherings, and that had to play a role. Wait and see (26%, 49 Votes)
  • To me this is indicative of what's wrong with the sport. With the Transfer Portal and NIL inequities, there is a greater divide between the haves and the have nots (24%, 44 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
