The NCAA limits non playing teams to 12 hours per week of practices. Thoughts?
  • I just wish that Karl Dorrell & Co. could have gotten in a week or two of actual practices before they pulled the plug. Nothing in the spring; nothing in the fall. Not good (41%, 69 Votes)
  • Another blow to the Pac-12 and Big Ten. The other conferences get to have full practices, while our teams are restricted. Not happy (37%, 62 Votes)
  • Makes little or no difference. There won't be any non-conference games until September, 2021 at the earliest, so the Pac-12 and Big Ten are not at a big disadvantage (22%, 36 Votes)

Which quote from Karl Dorrell's interview with Jim Rome stand out the most to you?
  • "My gut is that we should have been a little more patient and to wait a little more like the other conferences did" (58%, 112 Votes)
  • "If things get better ... we might revisit our situation again ... you never know" (22%, 43 Votes)
  • "We're going to make the most of what's in front of us, and who knows? Things might get better" (20%, 38 Votes)

Alabama head coach Nick Saban contends that, if football is moved to the spring, that all of the "opt-outs" will leave us with "JV football". Thoughts?
  • Well, if we're being honest, this would actually help CU's chances in the spring. If top players from USC and Oregon opt-out to prepare for the NFL draft, it would improve CU's chances for an upset (43%, 100 Votes)
  • Tough beans. So Saban would have to play with only 65-70 four- and five-star players instead of 85? Not interested in his complaining ... (37%, 86 Votes)
  • He's right, of course. If the top 100-150 players in the country opt-out to go pro, the college football product will be diluted (20%, 45 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
