The NCAA grants winter sports participants an extra year of eligibility. Thoughts?
  • Let's see if the Buffs make the Dance, then see if Maddox Daniels, D'Shawn Schwartz, Alex Strating and/or Dallas Walton even want to come back (67%, 87 Votes)
  • This is great news for Tad Boyle and the Buffs. McKinley Wright will be gone, but CU has four other seniors who can come back and contribute in 2021-22 (29%, 38 Votes)
  • This is bad news for Tad Boyle and the Buffs. The 2021-22 roster will include some talented new freshmen, expecting their chance to play. It's going to be tough for Boyle to keep the roster happy (4%, 5 Votes)

CU listed as a six-point underdog to UCLA in the November 7th opener. Thoughts?
  • I'm not confident in anything in this unusual season, but CU has beaten UCLA the last two times the teams played in Boulder, so my fingers are crossed the Buffs can make it three straight (42%, 92 Votes)
  • It sounds about right. CU has a new head coach, no QB with any starting experience, and no home field advantage to speak of. Dorrell will have to win a game or two before getting national respect (39%, 84 Votes)
  • Take the bet! The line seems to be set based upon the color of the uniforms, not on facts. UCLA has posted four straight losing seasons (4-8 last year). Go Buffs! (19%, 42 Votes)

Florida/LSU game postponed due to positive tests; Alabama's Nick Saban tests positive ... Thoughts?
  • All I know is that the Pac-12 has zero room for movement here, so my fingers are crossed that the conference learned from what other conferences are doing, and will be able to play their games (48%, 111 Votes)
  • This is why the SEC started earlier (and why the Pac-12 should have). Postponements are going to be inevitable. At least the SEC has some wiggle room in their schedules (27%, 62 Votes)
  • Makes you wonder if college football should have started up in the first place. With games being canceled/postponed every weekend, you have to wonder if it was all worth it (25%, 57 Votes)

Which quote from Karl Dorrell about Tuesday's practice (CU's first day in pads since last November) do you like the best?
  • "I have been on our corners a lot because they weren't necessarily playing as tough from what I saw last year. I saw a lot of corners step up and make some really good tackles today" (40%, 78 Votes)
  • "We had a competitive drill where every position was going against each other from a one-on-one standpoint. They did a great job of competing. I wanted to see who wanted to compete" (37%, 73 Votes)
  • "The players have done a great job of taking care of themselves in between practices ... We had a good day today. There was nobody that was inflicted with any injuries. So that's a good start" (23%, 45 Votes)

QB Coach Danny Langsdorf: “We’ve really put Lytle and Noyer in a really good competition mode ... They’ve been splitting reps and alternating". Thoughts?
  • It makes sense. Noyer and Lytle have been in the program for several years. In a weird year with no Spring ball, it's better to look to older players to lead the team (39%, 89 Votes)
  • No way this lasts. Noyer was playing defense last year, then quit the team ... I can't foresee a season (at least a successful season) with Noyer as CU's quarterback (36%, 83 Votes)
  • Surprised to see that Noyer is getting that many reps with the 1's. I would have thought Brendon Lewis would be getting more practice time (25%, 56 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
