Report: Pac-12 Presidents considering "massive overhaul" of conference structure". Thoughts?
  • It's about time. In case they hadn't noticed, the Pac-12 is being left behind in media revenue, recruiting, and national recognition. How soon can changes be implemented? (40%, 72 Votes)
  • If they "discover" is that Larry Scott and the Pac-12 Networks both need to be replaced, I'll be satisfied. With a new commissioner and a new media contract, there will be hope for the future (38%, 68 Votes)
  • Fingers crossed, but likely much ado about nothing. The talk is about hiring a consultant and doing more studies. Same song, different verse - they'll "study" the Pac-12 into obscurity (22%, 38 Votes)

Which of the August 24th-30th CU games highlighted by the Daily Camera for you carries the most significance?
  • 2001: Fresno State 24, Colorado 22: Week Zero loss to Bulldogs cost Buffs a chance to play for a national championship (47%, 69 Votes)
  • 1990: No. 5 Colorado 31, No. 8 Tennessee 31: Jim Thorpe Classic tie costs CU an undisputed national championship (38%, 56 Votes)
  • 2003: Colorado 42, No. 23 Colorado State 35: Buffs upset Rams as Joel Klatt makes a record-setting debut (10%, 15 Votes)
  • 2019: Colorado 52, Colorado State 31: Buffs make it five straight over Rams in Mel Tucker's successful debut as head coach (5%, 6 Votes)

Report: Big Ten considering opening 2020 season Thanksgiving weekend. Thoughts?
  • All I know is ... if the Big Ten changes, and only the Pac-12 is left sitting on its hands while other conferences play, the Pac-12 will be replaced in the "Power Five" listing by the AAC (54%, 79 Votes)
  • Uh, no. It's wishful thinking from some fans and pundits (and perhaps a few Big Ten coaches). The Big Ten has already announced the postponement will not be revisited (37%, 53 Votes)
  • Can you imagine the liability issues if the Big Ten changed its mind, and, heaven forbid, there is a serious outbreak? Can you say "major lawsuit"? I knew you could (9%, 13 Votes)

Report: Pac-12 considering a six-game spring schedule, with five conference and one non-conference (v. Big 10?) game. Thoughts?
  • Really? Six games - why bother? How silly will that look if the other Power-Five conferences play eight- or nine-game schedules and crown a champion? Pac-12 is quickly sliding towards oblivion (41%, 53 Votes)
  • I like it. As long as CU is playing the Pac-12 South and not set up with some form of a murderer's row (Oregon, Washington, USC, Cal, Utah) ... and gets Michigan State as its Big Ten opponent! (34%, 43 Votes)
  • I can't see it happening. The only way it would make sense is for the South to play the South, and the North to play the North, but Cal and Stanford will go nuts not getting to play the L.A. schools. (25%, 32 Votes)

Eight Nebraska football players sue the Big Ten to reverse canceled season. Thoughts?
  • Nebraska being Nebraska. Nice to see that all of eight players (including the long-snapper!) signed on to the lawsuit. Were the other 77 scholarship players in class (sarcasm font)? (42%, 84 Votes)
  • Nice look to have Nebraska players suing when the school is laying off athletic department personnel (way to use all of that Big Ten TV money, Cornhuskers!) (36%, 72 Votes)
  • I like it. The Big Ten did a terrible job at handling the cancellation. Was there a vote? What was the medical evidence? The students deserve answers (22%, 44 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
