Buffs take down Rams, 38-17, in Ft. Collins in the first game of the Karl Dorrell era. Thoughts?
- Not a surprising result. The Rams often play well to start (especially when they have all of Fall Camp to prepare for the Buffs), but CU's talent won out. Well done, Buffs! (46%, 42 Votes)
- I'm just sorry that Pac-12 games were not played this weekend (though, from all predictions about the USC/Alabama game, I'm guessing Clay Helton is not as sorry) (31%, 28 Votes)
- I don't think 38-17 is a fair representation of how bad the Buffs would have won. The 57-3 result seems more realistic to me. CSU is a dumpster fire right now (23%, 21 Votes)

What to you was the most significant story of the day?
- That Utah furloughed the entire athletic department (including AD and coaches). It doesn't get more drastic than that, folks. No football or basketball practices for the foreseeable future (52%, 71 Votes)
- That Lane Kiffin said that there were at least two SEC schools which couldn't play this weekend. "Postponements" are becoming commonplace - can cancellations be far behind? (22%, 30 Votes)
- That Larry Scott said that there is a "high degree" of confidence that the Pac-12 will play in January. With the new testing, that seems like a realistic goal (17%, 23 Votes)
- That teams which play an eight-game spring schedule can have a 15-practice ramp up, but those who start later in the fall (read: Big Ten) cannot. So much for Big Ten Thanksgiving football (9%, 12 Votes)

Pac-12 announces deal to allow up to daily testing for student-athletes for all close-contact sports. Thoughts?
- We'll see it when we see it. As it currently stands, the Pac-12 will not be playing football (or basketball) until January 1st. When they revise the deadline, then I'll get excited (45%, 82 Votes)
- Wait a second, it was my understanding that the Pac-12 didn't get to go to the bathroom without permission from the Big Ten. Did I miss a meeting? (27%, 50 Votes)
- If, as Larry Scott says, that “this is a major step toward the safe resumption of Pac-12 sport competitions", today is a big day for the conference (28%, 50 Votes)

CU's sixteenth commit from the Recruiting Class of 2021 comes from three-star WR/DB/KR Nikko Reed. Thoughts?
- There seems to be a trend of late - specialists who weren't generating much excitement from other Pac-12 schools. Fingers crossed - in Karl we trust! (45%, 84 Votes)
- So ... a commit who is four inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter than the punter commit we got the day before? Oh, and no Power Five offers? Color me skeptical (if not disappointed) (31%, 58 Votes)
- A kick/punt returner who can run a 4.5 40? ... And can be developed into a cornerback of the future? Love it - you can't teach speed (24%, 46 Votes)

CU picks up a commitment from punter Ashton Logan. Thoughts?
- Sounds like a quality kid (Armed Forces and Ivy League offers), and he may be a gray-shirt candidate. Sounds like a no-lose situation for the Buffs (62%, 128 Votes)
- Punter guru Chris Sailer said Logan has "a live leg. Ashton has an ideal frame for a D1 College Punter". Sold! (21%, 43 Votes)
- Great to see CU emphasizing special teams, but ... with such a small Recruiting Class, should CU be using two scholarships on kickers? Just asking ... (17%, 34 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
