One weekend into Fall Camp, what would be your prediction for CU's starting quarterback November 7th against UCLA?
  • Junior Tyler Lytle ... He's been at CU for several years, and does have some game experience. He may not have been able to beat out Steven Montez, but he is CU's best - and most reliable - option (53%, 163 Votes)
  • Freshman Brendon Lewis ... Lewis had 11,000+ yards of offense in high school. If there was ever a year to start a true freshman and take your chances, this would be the season (43%, 132 Votes)
  • Senior Sam Noyer ... Yes, he moved over to the defensive side of the ball once, and entered the transfer portal ... but he's CU's only senior scholarship quarterback (4%, 14 Votes)

How would you rate your level of interest in Fall Camp news?
  • High. After 11 months without CU football, I'm excited for every interview and factoid that this October can produce (61%, 129 Votes)
  • Medium. I'm interested in big news items - Has a quarterback been named? Have their been any injuries - but I'm not ready to go in depth into CU football just yet (25%, 53 Votes)
  • Low. When we get to the week before the UCLA game, I will ramp up my interest. But, at least for now, it's hard to get excited about the season (14%, 30 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from Karl Dorrell's first practice do you like best?
  • “You could definitely see the comfort level with the seniors ... They looked like they were conditioned and ready to go" (53%, 78 Votes)
  • "I liked the competitiveness of this group. I think it was a good start to our 25 days" (26%, 38 Votes)
  • "We had everybody cleared with all the COVID testing we had today. It took us exactly two hours to do it. We allotted for the right amount of time" (21%, 30 Votes)

CU cleared by Boulder County Public Health Department to begin "Fall Camp" on Friday. Thoughts?
  • Hip, Hip, Hooray! After almost 11 months, the CU football team will be able to practice as a team. Hard to believe this is actually happening! (51%, 97 Votes)
  • Does this mean we actually get to start arguing over who will be the starting quarterback, and not have it be an awkward hypothetical? Let the debates begin! (25%, 48 Votes)
  • So far, so good. I trust that CU has done all it can to make this a reality, but cases could still arise (or Boulder County could change its mind). Fingers crossed (24%, 44 Votes)

Pac-12 media poll has CU finishing fifth in the Pac-12 South. Thoughts?
  • Sounds about right. CU hasn't been practicing, has a new staff, and will start a new quarterback (I'm actually surprised that CU wasn't picked to finish last) (49%, 102 Votes)
  • I just find it depressing that, in 10 years in the Pac-12, the Buffs have been picked to finish higher than last only three times - and finished last when picked to finish 4th ('17) and 5th ('18) (30%, 63 Votes)
  • Too low. Arizona is a dumpster fire, and the Buffs get UCLA at home (plus a game against 4-8 Stanford). Buffs to finish fourth in the Pac-12 South ... or better! (21%, 45 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
