It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at No. 8 USC (Friday, 7:30 p.m., MT, FS1)
  • Hmmm ... A road game, against an explosive offense, against a team trying to impress a national television audience that they are playoff worthy. Sounds like a rout to me (75%, 171 Votes)
  • I'm banking on the Trojans looking past the Buffs, what with UCLA and Notre Dame left on the schedule. Buffs have no chance at winning, but will beat the 34-point spread (15%, 34 Votes)
  • Of all the teams CU has played more than three times, the Buffs are winless against only USC ... and the winless streak is up to 15. This has to end sometime ... Buffs in a huge upset! (10%, 23 Votes)

Which of the following double-digit Pac-12 underdogs (not named CU) has the best chance at a win this weekend?
  • No. 24 Washington (+13.5-points) at No, 6 Oregon ... In a big rivalry game, you throw out the records and the odds. The Huskies might not win, but it will be a close game (55%, 103 Votes)
  • California (+13.5-points) at Oregon State … Cal almost beat USC on the road last weekend, while Oregon State is coming off of a tough loss to the Huskies which took the Beavers out of the Pac-12 race (26%, 49 Votes)
  • Arizona (+19.5-points) at No. 9 UCLA … Arizona has been feisty at times, and UCLA could be caught looking ahead to next weekend's game against USC (13%, 25 Votes)
  • Stanford (+24.5) at No. 13 Utah … Gut feeling. The Cardinal was written off for dead a few weeks ago, then went on the road and defeated Notre Dame in South Bend. Lightning could strike twice (6%, 10 Votes)

Buffs open basketball season with an 82-66 win over UC-Riverside. Thoughts?
  • A nice win. The Buffs let UC-Riverside get it's only lead (15-14), then put together a 14-0 run and never looked back. A good team win with ten players scoring. Nice start to the season! (51%, 89 Votes)
  • The Buffs have a game on the road this Sunday against No. 11 Tennessee (Noon, MT, ESPN). Win that game, and we'll talk then about a good start to the season (27%, 47 Votes)
  • I guess it's good that the Buffs opened the season with a win. One concern: It came before the smallest first-game crowd in the Tad Boyle era (5,388). The Buff Nation has gone into hibernation (22%, 37 Votes)

CU Recruiting Class of 2023 has added three recruits in the past week, including the highest-rated recruit in the Class. Thoughts?
  • Hats off to interim head coach Mike Sanford and the coaching staff. Despite an uncertain future, these coaches have represented CU well. Thanks, coaches! (46%, 123 Votes)
  • I'll be interested to see how this plays out. Amazingly enough, CU has received more commitments since Dorrell was fired than have had players decommit. I hope this trend holds through to Signing Day (37%, 98 Votes)
  • Hats off to these players. They say that players are supposed to chose a school, not a coach, but these young men have taken it to heart. Welcome, Mr. Onovughe, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Shaw! (17%, 46 Votes)

Colorado opens as a 34.0-point underdog to No. 8 USC. Thoughts?
  • Is it still November? Can't we just fast forward through the next three weeks (except for CU basketball, of course), and get to the naming of the new CU head coach? (49%, 113 Votes)
  • Yeah, whatever. The Buffs were 31.5-point underdogs to Oregon. I guess USC gets another three points for being at home. As usual, take CU's opponent, give the points, and collect on Saturday (37%, 85 Votes)
  • It's a short week, and USC will definitely be looking past the Buffs, getting ready for their game against UCLA the following week. No chance CU wins, but the Buffs have a shot at a back door cover (14%, 31 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
