Which of the following double-digit Pac-12 underdogs (not named CU) has the best chance at a win this weekend?
  • Stanford (+16.5) at No. 12 UCLA. The Bruins will be down after their loss to the Ducks, and Stanford has won two straight. The Cardinal will at least keep it close (65%, 99 Votes)
  • No. 10 USC at Arizona (+15.5). The Trojans aren't as good as they think they are, and the Wildcats will be primed at Homecoming after a bye week (31%, 47 Votes)
  • Cal (+17.0) at home against No. 8 Oregon. The Ducks will be looking past the Bears to their showdown with the Buffs (just kidding). Could be a let down spot for Oregon (4%, 6 Votes)

Colorado men's basketball team picked by the Pac-12 media to finish sixth. Thoughts?
  • Nothing to see here. CU teams under Tad Boyle are annually underrated. The Buffs have won 20+ games four years in a row, and will again this year (63%, 125 Votes)
  • Sounds about right. Without Evan Battey and Jabari Walker, and no height inside, it's going to be tough for the Buffs to compete for a Pac-12 title (21%, 42 Votes)
  • I have no idea. I'll keep tabs on the Buffs in non-conference (and the first two Pac-12 games in December), then get interested once CU's new football coach is revealed (16%, 31 Votes)

Stanford is giving away tickets to the final two home games of the season. Thoughts?
  • Well, when you draw 25,000 to a 50,000-seat stadium a week after upsetting Notre Dame on the road, perhaps its time to explore new ways to get fannies in the seats (37%, 68 Votes)
  • Not a good sign for Stanford, the Pac-12, or college football. If a school with a $36 billion dollar endowment and David Shaw as its coach can't figure this out, what hope is there for CU? (34%, 62 Votes)
  • What does it say about CU, which still draws 50,000 despite a pathetic team? Are Buff fans sending the wrong message to the AD? Why improve the team if fans show up regardless? (29%, 52 Votes)

If Owen McCown is healthy, which quarterback should CU start against Arizona State - McCown or J.T. Shrout?
  • McCown - He was the starter because he was the starter when he was injured, and, by the way, he is the better quarterback (83%, 218 Votes)
  • Shrout - He has started three games - all on the road. He has played better as the season has gone on (17 of CU's 20 points v. Cal), and deserves the chance to start at home (13%, 34 Votes)
  • Can we go with neither? Too bad Brendon Lewis has already bailed on the team. I wonder if Maddox Kopp is ready to get in some playing time ... (4%, 12 Votes)

Colorado opens as an 11.0-point home underdog to Arizona State. Thoughts?
  • After the performance against Oregon State, we're back to the Dorrell Buffs. If you want to place a bet, go with CU's opponent, give the points, and don't think twice about it (42%, 105 Votes)
  • After getting over the hangover from Saturday night, I am back to being optimistic. This is CU's last chance at a win, and I think they'll be motivated to win at Homecoming. Buffs pick up win No. 2 (32%, 80 Votes)
  • This will be a close game between two struggling teams. ASU is 2-5 and just lost to Stanford. The Buffs may not win, but it will be a low scoring game and the Buffs will cover (26%, 64 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
