Which player(s) will benefit the most from the new coaching staff?
  • TE's Jared Poplawski and Darrion Jones - Duh. No position will benefit more from the coaching change than the tight end position (50%, 153 Votes)
  • LB Nate Landman - As the article says, Landman will go from solid player to superstar under the new coaching staff (21%, 64 Votes)
  • DB's Wigley, Udoffia, Miller, Blackmon, etc. - Mel Tucker's background has been with defensive backs. He will take the unit to a new level (16%, 49 Votes)
  • QB Steven Montez - Montez will have his best season under the tutelage of Jay Johnson (13%, 37 Votes)

WSU's Mike Leach to teach: "Insurgent Warfare and Football Strategies". Interested?
  • Yes. Leach has his faults, but he is nothing if not interesting. It would be a fun class to take (66%, 107 Votes)
  • Perhaps, but I'm not sure I could answer the essay to get in: "Can the British strategy in the Malaya insurgency be used today?" (19%, 31 Votes)
  • No. Leach has an ego the size of Texas, and I'm tired of his antics. He needs to stick to football, and leave his opinions to himself (15%, 25 Votes)

How would you rate the CU defensive line as the Buffs prepare for spring practices?
  • Undecided. I would like to think that bringing in Jimmy Brumbaugh to coach the defensive line, and having a defensive-minded coach in Mel Tucker, that the defensive line will be improved (74%, 177 Votes)
  • A weakness ... Eight of 12 scholarship players are underclassmen, and only three in the lineup have ever played a down wearing black-and-gold. Let's be honest, this unit is a major concern (17%, 41 Votes)
  • A strength ... Mustafa Johnson is an All-Pac-12 performer, and will be supplemented with talented underclassmen and JC transfers (9%, 22 Votes)

Buffs fall to Washington State on the road, 76-74. Thoughts?
  • Unacceptable. You can't lose to the 11th-place team if you have any expectations of finishing in the top four. Allowing a team to shoot over 50% from three-point range is, well, indefensible (46%, 106 Votes)
  • All I know is that during the five-game winning streak, I was dreaming of CU being on the NCAA bubble after this weekend. Now? Not so much ... (30%, 68 Votes)
  • A tough loss, but to a good team. Recall that these Cougars just got done sweeping the Arizona schools - on the road - and barely lost (72-70) to Washington (24%, 55 Votes)

Defensive lineman Lyle Tuiloma reportedly retiring from football. Thoughts?
  • I'm just glad to hear that Tuiloma is graduating (not an APR hit). He did his part for CU, so I'll just wish him well and move on (73%, 251 Votes)
  • Not to be mean-spirited, but this is not a significant loss. Tuiloma was a part-timer in all 12 games, and had 11 tackles last season (23%, 77 Votes)
  • A huge loss. With graduations and the transfer of Israel Antwine, the Buffs are down to two returning defensive linemen. Not good (4%, 14 Votes)
