CU opens as a 6.5-point home underdog to No. 25 BYU (Saturday, 8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN). Thoughts?
  • Anyone else notice that BYU has given up only one touchdown (and only 13 points total) in three games? This is going to be a tough game. I foresee the Cougars pulling away late (45%, 86 Votes)
  • The Buffs played better against Wyoming, but the Cowboys are not a good team. The crowd and Kaidon Salter will keep this close, but I'm not picking the Buffs to win the game outright (41%, 78 Votes)
  • I guess the oddsmakers didn't stay up late Saturday night. CU got its wake up call against Houston, and will bring momentum to Folsom Saturday night. I can definitely see CU winning this game (14%, 28 Votes)

Colorado 37, Wyoming 20. Thoughts?
  • After a tough September, a Saturday with a CU win, pluses losses by Nebraska, Colorado State, and Utah? A nice day. Let's soak it in, and worry about BYU in a few days (36%, 84 Votes)
  • A good game for the Buffs and their fans. Kaidon Salter solidified his QB1 status, and the Buffs made plays (downfield!) to keep Wyoming at arm's length most of the evening (35%, 81 Votes)
  • The final score is deceiving. The Buff defense couldn't close things out against a team which scored seven points against Utah. Enjoy the win, Buff fans ... It might be awhile before the next one (29%, 67 Votes)

It's time. Your prediction for Colorado v. Wyoming (Saturday, 8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN)
  • The Buffs will win, but, as was the case for a good piece of the Delaware game, the Buffs will make their fans nervous. A win is a win, but this may not be a blowout (42%, 69 Votes)
  • Anyone who watched the Houston game has to be worried about this game. The Cowboys will be fired up for this game. I hope the Buffs play with a sense of urgency ... or they could lose (29%, 48 Votes)
  • A nice - perhaps for the final time this fall - easy win. The Buffs have struggled, but they won't against the Cowboys. CU takes down Wyoming in a big way (29%, 47 Votes)

Which of the following games involving Big 12 teams to you will hold the most interest?
  • No. 17 Texas Tech at No. 16 Utah - Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, Fox. One of the games of the day. Is the Red Raider lineup bought-and-paid-for roster legit? Has Utah fully rebounded from last season? (88%, 128 Votes)
  • SMU at TCU - Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, ESPN2. The "Battle for the Iron Skillet" is more than a cross-town rivalry. It's a battle to see which team gets to hold legit conference title aspirations (6%, 9 Votes)
  • BYU at East Carolina - Saturday, 5:30 p.m., MT, ESPN2. BYU is undefeated, but has yet to be tested. With the Cougars coming to Boulder next weekend, we'll see how BYU does on the road (6%, 9 Votes)

Report: Kaidon Salter to start at quarterback against Wyoming. Thoughts?
  • Glad to hear it ... But only if this means that the decision has been made to go with Salter the rest of the season. Barring injury, CU should have one starting quarterback, and end the merry-go-round (49%, 92 Votes)
  • Glad to hear it ... Ryan Staub is what he is: A good backup. Salter has much more starting experience, and, frankly, more talent. Glad to hear the move has been made (40%, 75 Votes)
  • Not a big fan. I'm not sure Ryan Staub got a fair opportunity to show what he can do. He had a bad game, on the road, against a quality Big 12 defense. He deserved to get at least one more start (11%, 20 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
