The Big 12 game of the week I'm going to pay the most attention to this weekend will be:
  • Iowa at No. 16 Iowa State - Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, Fox. A big game for the Cyclones, and a big game for the conference. Plus, it's the lead in to the CU game, so I hope it doesn't go into OT (60%, 58 Votes)
  • Kansas at Missouri - Saturday, 1:30 p.m., MT, ESPN2. The Border War will be on at the same time as the CU game, but a battle of former Big 8/12 rivals will be a real game (27%, 26 Votes)
  • Baylor at No. 17 SMU - Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, CW Network. Baylor, one of the preseason Big 12 favorites, is staring an 0-2 start in the face. Will the Bears respond? We'll see (13%, 12 Votes)

Which note from this week's "T.I.P.S." to you was the most interesting?
  • That former Buff (and Buff legacy), tight end Caleb Fauria, is on the Delaware Blue Hen roster (and had 12 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown last fall) (51%, 70 Votes)
  • That the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens have the best all-time winning percentage in all of the FBS (28%, 38 Votes)
  • That the Blue Hens will be starting their backup quarterback, though that quarterback started the same number of games (four) as the primary quarterback started during the 2024 season (21%, 29 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from Coach Prime's weekly press conference to you is the most meaningful?
  • “We didn’t lose the game because of coach Shurmur, coach Livingston, or one specific thing. I’ve got to do a better job of preparing my team, challenging my coaches to go to the next level" (41%, 50 Votes)
  • To his players: “Now you’re understanding what we tried to tell you before the game. They understand now, I’ll put it like that. They get it (the social media criticism)" (33%, 41 Votes)
  • “You got to understand, a lot of guys don’t understand the standard ... You should have heard those guys getting on the guys. That was good because it’s a certain standard" (26%, 32 Votes)

ESPN: Colorado's philosophical change will take time. Thoughts?
  • Jury is still out. The Buffs stayed with a good Georgia Tech team despite making mistakes. I'm willing to give the coaches and players a few more weeks to get their act together (73%, 146 Votes)
  • Disagree. The coaching staff has had eight months to prepare the new offense. If the quarterback, running backs, receivers and line don't have it figured out by now, it's not going to happen (15%, 29 Votes)
  • Agree. Moving on from the Shedeur/Travis era to a more run-friendly offense is going to take some time. Once Salter feels comfortable (and runs more), the offense is going to be fine (12%, 24 Votes)

CU opens as a 23.5-point favorite over Delaware (Saturday, 1:30 p.m., MT, Fox). Thoughts?
  • Sounds about right. The Buffs are a much more talented team, but Delaware will be psyched to play on national television. Buffs may cover, but it may be because of a late score (37%, 47 Votes)
  • Delaware is playing its second-ever game as an FBS team, and the Buffs are going to come out angry after a tough week of practice. A CU blowout - Buffs will be up by 24 by halftime (35%, 45 Votes)
  • You just watched the CU offense post a grand total of 305 yards of total offense and 20 points. I'm not sure if the Buffs will even get to 24 points. Prove me wrong, Buffs! (28%, 36 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
