What grade would you assign to the CU Recruiting Class of 2019?
  • A B ... A strong class overall - especially along the lines - but I'll be interested to see if the 2020 Class if a significant upgrade (65%, 303 Votes)
  • An A ... Considering the time limitations, what Tucker & Co. have accomplished in their first two months on the job is nothing short of amazing (17%, 78 Votes)
  • A C ... There are some quality prospects, but there are some reaches as well. A Class made up predominantly of "diamonds in the rough" won't win many championships (16%, 74 Votes)
  • A D ... The Buffs are in the bottom half of the Pac-12 (again). I know the staff didn't have much time, but I was expecting better results in the February Signing Day (2%, 13 Votes)

La'Vontae Shenault commits to CU: "I will be joining my brothers Laviska and KD". Thoughts?
  • Great news!! A four-star wide receiver who will carry on his brother's legacy. Welcome, La'Vontae! (85%, 417 Votes)
  • Good news. Not sure that CU is in desperate need of another wide receiver, but there's no such thing as a bad four-star recruit. (14%, 67 Votes)
  • Not news. It's nice to have another Shenault, but I'd rather have a four-star defensive lineman or cornerback (1%, 5 Votes)

What is your interest in the American Alliance of Football?
  • Low. Didn't they learn anything from the USFL and XFL? I'm taking a break from football (at least until spring football starts in March) (58%, 148 Votes)
  • Medium. With head coaches like Mike Riley, Rick Neuheisel, Dennis Erickson, Mike Singletary, and Steve Spurrier - they are taking this seriously, so I may check it out for at least a game or two (36%, 91 Votes)
  • High. Football is football, and I need a constant fix ... Plus, there are three Buffs on the San Diego team to keep an eye on (6%, 15 Votes)

Which of the most recent Buff commits do you find most impressive?
  • Class of 2019 defensive lineman Lloyd Murray. An offer sheet as long as your arm, and a 6'2", 310-pound frame to clog up the middle (56%, 199 Votes)
  • Class of 2020 offensive lineman Carson Lee. Not only did CU beat out Nebraska for Lee's services, but Lee plans on biggest recruiter at CU (34%, 123 Votes)
  • Class of 2019 defensive back Trustin Oliver. Matt McChesney called him the best skill position player in CU, "and it isn't even close" (10%, 36 Votes)

Start Date: February 3, 2019 @ 7:24 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Buffs rout Ducks, 73-51, behind Tyler Bey's ninth career double-double. Thoughts?
  • A great win, the most complete game of the season. If the Buffs can match this effort down the stretch, they will be a tough team to beat (35%, 66 Votes)
  • Buffs were 24-28 from the free throw line two days after missing ten free throws in a two-point loss to Oregon State. Will the real Buff team please stand up? (35%, 66 Votes)
  • The win only raises CU's Pac-12 record to 3-6 - 10th place. Too little, too late. I'm already over the 2018-19 team, and ready to move on to football again (30%, 58 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
