CU receives a commitment from three-star defensive back Joe Perkins. Thoughts?
  • In Tuck we Trust! A player we know will qualify (offers from Army and Navy) who is excited about being a Buff. Hope this opens the floodgates from some more recruits over the next few weeks (68%, 184 Votes)
  • A three-star prospect at a position of need? Such a combination is always welcome. Can't wait to get you to Boulder, Mr. Perkins! (18%, 49 Votes)
  • A player from SEC country with no SEC offers? Same song, different verse. Frankly, I thought we would be getting higher-ranked recruits from this staff (14%, 39 Votes)

Which listed starter from the Post-Spring depth chart (offense) will be a breakout star in 2019?
  • WR Dimitri Stanley - The nephew of Walter Stanley will make a name for himself in 2019 (46%, 97 Votes)
  • TE Jalen Harris - As Harris noted, he didn't transfer from Auburn to be a blocking tight end, he came to CU to catch passes - and find his way to the NFL (39%, 83 Votes)
  • RB Alex Fontenot - The "elder statesman" of the running back corps, the sophomore will be CU's next leading rusher (15%, 32 Votes)

What to you was the most surprising/interesting/intriguing aspect of the Post-Spring offensive depth chart?
  • That CU listed not one, but two starting positions at tight end. Does this mean that the University of Colorado is actually going to utilize the tight end position? Stop the presses! (45%, 71 Votes)
  • That Kary Kutsch and Jack Shutack were listed as the starting guards. If that holds true until September, the Buffs' offense could be in serious trouble (31%, 49 Votes)
  • That Sam Noyer was still listed behind Tyler Lytle at quarterback. Noyer seems to have a much better command of the offense (24%, 38 Votes)

Start Date: May 3, 2019 @ 7:48 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What news of the day did you find to be the most interesting/relevant/important?
  • That the CU Board of Regents approved Mark Kennedy as CU's new President. It was a 5-4 vote, so Kennedy is already on a short leash in terms of support (45%, 77 Votes)
  • That Buffs4Life has opened a 24-hour crisis hotline. Despite what the New York Times would have readers believe, CU and its affiliates care a great deal about the health of present and past players (34%, 57 Votes)
  • That the Pac-12 adopted a 20-game conference schedule for men's basketball. Strength of schedule and the attractiveness of home schedules both improved (21%, 36 Votes)

Start Date: May 2, 2019 @ 6:02 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Sophomore defensive back Hasaan Hypolite dismissed from team. Thoughts?
  • We knew that attrition was coming, but you don't like to see it this way. Not sure what team rules were violated, but I'm sorry it turned out this way for Hypolite (74%, 192 Votes)
  • A huge loss. CU was already looking to replace two starting safeties, and Hypolite was a potential starter. Not good news (14%, 37 Votes)
  • Hypolite only played on special teams last year (three snaps on defense). You can't miss what you never had (12%, 30 Votes)

Start Date: May 1, 2019 @ 7:15 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
