Where will former CU defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt be coaching next fall?
- At Kansas State. It wouldn't be a surprise if Bill Snyder retires, and Leavitt had it in his Oregon contract that he wouldn't have to pay a buyout to go to KSU (38%, 166 Votes)
- I don't care ... as long as he is not in Boulder. I hope/trust/expect CU to do better in the coaching lottery (22%, 96 Votes)
- At Colorado. Leavitt has head coaching experience, is popular with players, and is familiar with the roster. It just makes sense (20%, 87 Votes)
- At Oregon. After all is said and done, and the music stops, Leavitt will remain in Eugene (18%, 78 Votes)
- At Texas Tech. If he can find someone to keep the offense going, he'd be a good fit in Lubbock (2%, 8 Votes)

Which of CU's current assistant coaches would you like to see retained by the new head coach?
- OC/WR coach Darrin Chiaverini. He bleeds black-and-gold, and is CU's best recruiter (35%, 153 Votes)
- DL coach Kwahn Drake. Newest member of the staff, but he brought energy to - and got results from - the defensive line (26%, 113 Votes)
- QB coach/interim head coach Kurt Roper. The quarterbacks love him. He could help provide for a smooth transition (18%, 79 Votes)
- RB coach Darian Hagan. Obvious ties to the school. He has coaxed three straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons out of backs playing behind inferior lines (16%, 71 Votes)
- CB coach Ashley Ambrose. Another CU legacy. He could help CU continue to produce NFL-caliber defensive backs (3%, 13 Votes)
- DC/OLB coach D.J. Eliot. The defense - unlike the offense - showed improvement in spots as the season went on (2%, 9 Votes)

Which 5-7 team fan base has the most reason to be upset?
- Colorado. Vegas apparently had the Buffs pegged (over/under on wins set in August at 4.5), but the way the Buffs closed out the season is way beyond frustrating (47%, 173 Votes)
- USC. The Trojans posted their worst season in 18 years ... and still have Clay Helton as their coach (30%, 110 Votes)
- Florida State. The Seminoles hired away Willie Taggert ... and got their first losing season since 1976 (22%, 80 Votes)
- Arizona. The Wildcats fired Rich Rod for going 7-6, hired QB guru Kevin Sumlin ... and posted a losing record (1%, 8 Votes)

What was the greatest contributor to CU's season-ending losing streak?
- Deficiencies along both lines. Until CU recruits quality and quantity along the lines, CU will struggle to be a .500 team (45%, 212 Votes)
- Unimaginative play calling. Darrin Chiaverini failed to adjust as the season went on. Opponents knew the CU plays (see: Cal, first two minutes) better than did the Buff players (42%, 198 Votes)
- A lack of player development. MacIntyre & Co. have recruited better talent the past few seasons, but it hasn't translated into improved play on Game Day (13%, 58 Votes)

California 33, Colorado 21. Thoughts?
- I'm just glad that the 2018 season can finally be put behind us. How soon can we get a new coach, and turn the page to 2019? (67%, 288 Votes)
- A perfect ending to a perfectly terrible season. The CU football program deserves all of the derisive comments it will receive over the next nine months for a pitiful 0-7 run (22%, 96 Votes)
- I know that the Buffs will be met with scathing criticism for finishing with seven straight losses, but I'm proud of how this team fought back from a 21-0 first quarter deficit (11%, 47 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
