Rate your level of excitement as to Signing Day ...
  • High. It's an important day, but I have to temper my enthusiasm with the understanding that Mel Tucker has only been on the job for two weeks (54%, 255 Votes)
  • Medium. This is going to be a smallish Class, supplemented by transfers and February signees. Interested? Yes. Excited? Not so much (28%, 130 Votes)
  • Very high. There are many unknowns about this Class, but it sounds as if Mel Tucker & Co. are good closers. I can't wait to see what the new staff brings in Wednesday (18%, 83 Votes)

Start Date: December 18, 2018 @ 7:23 pm

Report: CU to hire former Maryland DC/DL coach Jimmy Brumbaugh as new defensive line coach. Thoughts?
  • I don't know much about Brumbaugh, but it does sound as if he is very qualified. In Tuck we trust! (48%, 214 Votes)
  • Another former Power-Five conference coordinator coming to Boulder as a position coach? Love it, love it love it! (43%, 189 Votes)
  • Um ... another east coast coach? Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but how are we going to recruit California and Texas if every new staff member has zero experience coaching west of the Mississippi? (9%, 41 Votes)

Start Date: December 17, 2018 @ 7:24 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Which new CU commit from this weekend do you like the best?
  • OG Vaatofu Sauvao - A transfer who can play right away. He'll help shore up CU's weakest unit. (33%, 140 Votes)
  • TE Jalen Harris - You mean, the Buffs might actually utilize a tight end in the offense? I can't wait! (24%, 102 Votes)
  • Nothing against the three new recruits, but, if we're being honest, I was hoping for more out of this weekend (than what has been announced so far) (22%, 94 Votes)
  • OT/DT Austin Williams - I like a recruit who is so talented and versatile that he can play - and play well - on both sides of the ball (21%, 89 Votes)

Start Date: December 16, 2018 @ 6:59 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Vaatofu Sauvao becomes the first new commit of the Mel Tucker era at Colorado. Thoughts?
  • Like it. Glad CU picked up a guard who can play right away, but, as has been the case with every move since MacIntyre was fired ... good, but not overwhelming (49%, 177 Votes)
  • Love it! A pancake-blocking machine who is ready to step in and contribute to the weakest unit on the team? Yes, please! (34%, 122 Votes)
  • Not excited. The same day Oregon picks up the No. 1 recruit in the nation (a defensive end, BTW), Colorado picks up a junior college guard with offers from Fresno State ... and Lamar. (17%, 64 Votes)

Start Date: December 15, 2018 @ 7:57 pm
End Date: No Expiry

How important is this recruiting weekend to the CU program under Mel Tucker?
  • Important. I would like for the Buffs to have a good weekend, if for no other purpose than to right the ship, and get the program pointed in the right direction (60%, 221 Votes)
  • Crucial. The Mel Tucker era has gotten off to a shaky start. Keeping the remaining recruits, and picking up a few others is vital for the Buffs going forward (32%, 116 Votes)
  • Not vital. Sure, a few good new recruits are always welcome, but, in the grand scheme of things, this is not that big a deal (8%, 30 Votes)

Start Date: December 14, 2018 @ 8:46 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
