CU finishes in a three-way tie for fourth in the Pac-12, but earn a No. 5 seed in Pac-12 tournament. Thoughts?
  • I guess if a win over Cal gets CU to 20 wins, and enhances the Buffs chances at an NIT bid, I'm in ... it is what it is (48%, 139 Votes)
  • Not an issue. Buffs can pick up another "W" on Wednesday before taking on Oregon State in the quarterfinals. Buffs the hottest team in the conference! (40%, 117 Votes)
  • A real concern. Two of the hottest teams heading into the conference tournament are CU ... and Cal. The Bears have won three straight, including a win over Washington. I'm concerned (12%, 34 Votes)

NIT Bracketology has Colorado as a No. 6 seed. Thoughts?
  • Let's see how the Buffs do in Las Vegas. Two wins in the Pac-12 tournament, and I can see the Buffs getting an NIT bid (45%, 98 Votes)
  • Love it! It would be great to see CU get a post-season bid, and get some playing time for a roster which will return in tact for 2019-20 (40%, 89 Votes)
  • Hate it. I know CU is edging closer to 20 wins, but it still seems hollow. It's the NCAA tournament and a Pac-12 title ... or stay home (15%, 33 Votes)

Buffs rout UCLA Bruins, 93-68. Thoughts?
  • The Buffs were dominant throughout. That's seven wins in the last nine games. Bring on the Trojans ... and the Pac-12 tournament! (48%, 136 Votes)
  • Four straight wins over UCLA? I don't care about "down years". That feat alone is memorable, and I'm looking forward to Tad picking up his 6th 20-win season (out of 10 all-time for CU) (39%, 112 Votes)
  • Nice to see the Buffs get to a 9-8 record in conference play after a 2-6 start, but let's not kid ourselves ... it's been against the worst Power conference in the nation. Too little; too late (13%, 36 Votes)

One week out from the start of the Pac-12 tournament ... How many bids will the Pac-12 receive in the NCAA tournament?
  • Two. Washington and Arizona State are likely to get in, barring embarrassing one-and-done Pac-12 tourney results for either team (44%, 102 Votes)
  • Three are possible. If a team other than Washington or Arizona State (CU?) wins in Las Vegas, the Pac-12 could have three bids to the Big Dance (24%, 55 Votes)
  • One. Washington will win the tournament, and that will be the conference's only bid (17%, 40 Votes)
  • One. If Washington is upset, only the conference tournament champion will get in (15%, 34 Votes)

What bowl news to you sounds the most exciting?
  • That the Las Vegas Bowl is dumping the Mountain West, picking up a Power Five opponent for the Pac-12. Guaranteed sellouts in Vegas, baby! (42%, 103 Votes)
  • That the Holiday Bowl will be bringing in an ACC opponent, giving the Pac-12 matchups against teams they rarely play (not to mention a de facto home game) (30%, 73 Votes)
  • That the conference is adding a Los Angeles Bowl, giving the conference a new bowl game (and 6-6 conference team - like, perhaps, CU - more assurance that they will receive a bowl bid) (28%, 68 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
