Former defensive quality control assistant suing USC for being forced out for reporting NCAA violations. Thoughts?
- USC is just like the other blue bloods in that they cheat ... and will get away with it. Just watch - nothing will come of this other than (at most) a slap on the wrist (52%, 78 Votes)
- USC will use this to help oust Helton (and not have to pay his buyout). The Trojans violated NCAA rules, and will find a way to turn it to their advantage (32%, 48 Votes)
- USC is just like the other blue bloods in that they cheat ... The Trojans just aren't as good at it as the SEC schools (and Oregon), and this will bring about much-deserved sanctions (16%, 25 Votes)

CU picks up a commitment from three-star linebacker Jayland Parker. Thoughts?
- Love it! Let's see ... The No. 11 inside linebacker in the nation, who sounds genuinely excited to be coming to Boulder. Hard to find a negative here (73%, 230 Votes)
- Like it. Nice to see a sought after recruit in a position of need. This Class is shaping up well, and I hope it continues all the way to Signing Day! (25%, 79 Votes)
- Not to be a naysayer, but this is the third commit from Georgia. Glad that the coaches have ties to the southeast, but CU's record of signing (and retaining) these players is not very good (2%, 6 Votes)

Which "consensus" preseason ranking do you find the most surprising?
- No. 17 Nebraska - Puh-lese. The preseason hype Scott Frost train is again out of control. At least Mel Tucker will get to pick up his first win over a ranked team in his first home game (66%, 191 Votes)
- No. 13 Utah - The Utes may be defending Pac-12 South champs, but the ranking is too high (Phil Steele has Utah at No. 8? Seriously?) (16%, 45 Votes)
- No. 11 Oregon - Too much faith is being placed in Justin Herbert. Auburn will expose the Ducks in Week One (12%, 34 Votes)
- No. 14 Washington - Not sure why the Huskies are not getting as much love as the Ducks. Chris Petersen will defeat the Ducks at home (again) this October (4%, 12 Votes)
- No. 23 Stanford - The Cardinal have a tough schedule, but David Shaw will coax another nine-win season out of his team, and a final ranking higher than No. 23 (2%, 6 Votes)

Other than USC's Clay Helton, which Pac-12 coach do you see as being on the "hottest seat"?
- Arizona's Kevin Sumlin - He inherited a Heisman trophy candidate, and went 5-7 after misusing Tate. Another losing record, and the bloom will fall off the Sumlin rose (49%, 111 Votes)
- UCLA's Chip Kelly - Kelly got a pass for his 3-9 first season, but if Kelly posts another losing record, and who knows? (36%, 82 Votes)
- Oregon State's Jonathan Smith - Corvallis is a tough place to win, and Smith will be given time, but if the Beavers keep going 2-10, OSU will have to make yet another change (11%, 25 Votes)
- Arizona State's Herm Edwards - The Sun Devils had a surprisingly good first season, but the weirdness of the hire may soon reappear (4%, 7 Votes)

FanDuel win/loss projections have ten of CU's opponents being bowl-eligible. Thoughts?
- All I know ... With CU at 4.5 wins for the season, there will be some folks who make some money off of FanDuel come December (35%, 51 Votes)
- Way too optimistic. Anyone who sees a 4-8 Nebraska team having an over/under of 8.5 is looking at uniforms, not who is wearing them. Each season is different, and some teams will under-perform (34%, 50 Votes)
- About right. There was a definite step up in competition with the addition of Stanford, Oregon and Air Force. The Buffs are going to just have to deal with it (31%, 46 Votes)

Stuart:
I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
