What concerned you the most about the 2019 Rocky Mountain Showdown?
- That the defense wasn't able to get a mediocre CSU offense off the field. One punt? CU won't be able to count on a +4 turnover margin the rest of the season (78%, 300 Votes)
- That Steven Montez seems - as a senior - to be having the same issues (throwing off the back foot, some questionable decisions) which have haunted him in the past (21%, 80 Votes)
- That the offensive game plan seemed to be content using Laviska Shenault as a decoy. Six touches in 60 plays? This just in - that's not enough! (1%, 4 Votes)

What's the most positive takeaway you are taking from the 2019 Rocky Mountain Showdown?
- That the Buffs beat the Rams by 21 points, and yet everyone - including Mel Tucker and his Buffs - feel like there is a great deal of work to be done (57%, 222 Votes)
- That the defense made adjustments at halftime, and in crunch time in the fourth quarter, came through in a big way (28%, 109 Votes)
- That the Buffs posted 52 points, the third-highest first-game total ever ... and did so without Laviska Shenault being the entire offense (15%, 59 Votes)

Buffs defeat Rams in the final Rocky Mountain Showdown game to be played in Denver. Thoughts?
- I'm all in with Mel Tucker, and I understand it won't happen over night. Let's celebrate being 1-0, and trust Tucker & Co. to make necessary adjustments going forward (64%, 281 Votes)
- The Buffs were favored by 13, and won by 21. It wasn't always pretty, but the Buffs got it done. Five straight wins over the Rams - I'll take it! (23%, 102 Votes)
- It was a win, but about as ugly a win as you can get. The Buffs may only win two or three games all year. Yuck! (13%, 58 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Showdown ...
- It's the first game for the new coaching staff, which means mistakes will be made. I'm confident in a Buff win, but CU won't make it comfortable until the second half (51%, 196 Votes)
- It was a rout last year, and CSU, if anything, is worse than it was last year. Mel Tucker & Co. will have an impressive debut with a big win over the Rams (37%, 144 Votes)
- There is nothing more dangerous than a cornered animal. Mike Bobo & Co. are fighting for their jobs, and have had a month to prepare. There are no guarantees here - fingers crossed for a Buff win (12%, 46 Votes)

Thursday night Pac-12 games: UCLA at Cincinnati; Kent State at ASU; Utah at BYU. Predictions?
- The conference will go 2-1. UCLA lost to Cincinnati at home last year, and Utah was down 20-0 at the half last year to BYU. One of these two teams will fall (68%, 197 Votes)
- The Pac-12 will go 3-0. The Arizona State game will be a rout, while UCLA and Utah will post road wins against credible opponents (24%, 69 Votes)
- The Pac-12 South will go 1-2 on Thursday. Only ASU will emerge with a win ... and the nation will see just how wide open the South is when the Bruins and Utes fall on the road in Week One (8%, 23 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
