This is it! Your prediction for the outcome of CU's Homecoming game, 2019 ...
  • A beautiful day with over a dozen recruits on hand. Buffs come out angry, and take out their frustrations on the Cardinal. Montez will play well, with the defense playing well enough for a CU victory! (58%, 116 Votes)
  • Stanford is a three-point favorite, and I also see a close game. Unfortunately, like the USC game, I see the Buffs failing again in the fourth quarter. A close loss at home ... again (31%, 61 Votes)
  • Stanford, with quarterback K.J. Costello back in the lineup, is playing like the preseason ranked team it was. Hate to say it, but it feels like a Cardinal rout (11%, 23 Votes)

Which of the other Pac-12 games holds for you the most interest this weekend?
  • USC at Arizona State ... The Trojans were embarrassed by the Ducks, and the Sun Devils have had two weeks to prepare. Is ASU ready to assume the mantle as the South's No. 2 team? (58%, 88 Votes)
  • Washington at Oregon State (Friday night) ... The Huskies are down - 5-4 after being ranked in the top 15. Can the 4-4 Beavers pull off the home upset? (40%, 60 Votes)
  • Washington State at Cal ... Both teams are 4-4, 1-4, but the Bears have been struggling on offense of late. Any chance the Cal defense can keep the Washington State offense at bay? (2%, 3 Votes)

Which is the bigger game this weekend: CU v. Stanford (FB) or CU v. Arizona State (MBB)
  • They are both huge - don't make me choose between the two. Can't CU have a decent November for a change, and have both teams win? (46%, 134 Votes)
  • The CU/Stanford game. The basketball team will have plenty of opportunities to rebound from a loss in China to ASU. The football team only has three more games to play - and desperately needs a win (30%, 88 Votes)
  • The CU/Arizona State game. The football team has already shown it's no longer interested in this season, and the MBB team can break into the Top 25 with a win (24%, 67 Votes)

CU receives a signed Financial Aid Agreement from DL Antonio Alfano. Thoughts?
  • Love it ... but I'll wait until Alfano actually enrolls (he can still back out) and is given permission by the NCAA to play in the 2020 season before I break out the champagne (42%, 164 Votes)
  • Are you freakin' kidding me? This is the best day for the Buffs since the Nebraska game. A five-star defensive lineman coming to Boulder? Well done, Mel Tucker!!! (38%, 148 Votes)
  • It looks like a great move on paper, but Alfano left Alabama under unusual circumstances, and CU doesn't have the best of luck with five-star recruits. Fingers crossed (20%, 79 Votes)

ESPN lists five CU games on list of 150 all-time greatest games. Your favorite?
  • 1991 Orange Bowl - No. 1 CU 10, No. 5 Notre Dame 9 ... Can't get any better than winning the national championship (38%, 116 Votes)
  • 1994 - "The Miracle at Michigan" - No. 7 CU 26, No. 4 Michigan 26. The most recognized game in CU history (32%, 97 Votes)
  • 1989 - No. 2 CU 27, No. 3 Nebraska 21 - "The Pitch" from Hagan-to-Flannigan the highlight of the Buffs' run to an undefeated season and an Orange Bowl berth (22%, 68 Votes)
  • 2001 Big 12 Championship game - No. 9 CU 39, No. 3 Texas 37. Buffs cap off magical season with first and only Big 12 title (7%, 21 Votes)
  • 1990 - Fifth Down game - No. 8 CU 33, Missouri 31. Haters don't appreciate how Missouri fixed the field so the Buffs would slip all afternoon (1%, 5 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
