After Oregon's and Utah's big wins over USC and Washington - Will the Pac-12 have an entrant in the College Football Playoff?
  • No. Even though Oregon is at No. 7 and Utah at No. 8, there are too many teams ranked above them who will finish out above either the Ducks or the Utes (46%, 110 Votes)
  • Yes. Both teams have cleared their greatest remaining hurdle. The Pac-12 champion will be in the Playoffs (29%, 69 Votes)
  • Don't care. I'm not a fan of either Oregon or Utah, and, with CU faltering, am losing interest in college football for the season. Bring on Boyle and the basketball season! (25%, 58 Votes)

UCLA 31, Colorado 14. Thoughts?
  • There's no denying that the Buffs had their chances. It was easy to spot which team was on a winning streak and which was on a losing streak, as the Bruins took advantage of CU mistakes (37%, 114 Votes)
  • I cannot believe that I am wasting this much emotional energy on a team which is this bad. The 2019 team is worse than the 2018 team - it appears Tucker & Co. are in over their heads (37%, 114 Votes)
  • At least the cross-country team can win titles, and basketball season starts next Friday. Not much to look forward to with the football team, I'm afraid (26%, 84 Votes)

This is it! Your prediction for CU at UCLA (Saturday, 7:00 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks)
  • Two poor defenses in a shootout. This weekend, the Buffs won't let it slip away. Buffs pick up a road win in the Rose Bowl! (50%, 122 Votes)
  • I can see it as a back-and-forth game, but the team on a two-game winning streak will get the best of a team on a four-game losing streak. Buffs lose late ... again (27%, 65 Votes)
  • I'm not sure I see how the porous CU defense is going to stop the UCLA rushing attack. The Buff offense will score, but not enough - Bruins pull away late for a double-digit win over the Buffs (23%, 57 Votes)

Which of the other Pac-12 games Saturday will hold for you the most interest?
  • No. 9 Utah at Washington - The Utes' defense has been dominant of late - can Utah make a case as a national player by defeating the Huskies on the road? (55%, 102 Votes)
  • No. 7 Oregon at USC - The Trojans looked good at times against CU (and vulnerable in others). Is this a make-or-break game for Clay Helton? Can the Ducks clear their last major regular season hurdle? (42%, 78 Votes)
  • Oregon State at Arizona - Believe it or not, the Beavers take over second place in the Pac-12 North with a win ... Arizona has lost three straight (3%, 5 Votes)

Start Date: October 31, 2019 @ 5:57 pm

Which CU/UCLA factoid gives you the most optimism about the Buffs trip to Pasadena?
  • That UCLA is 112th in the nation in total defense, giving up 450.1 yards/game, and 114th in scoring defense, surrendering 34.3 points per outing (75%, 166 Votes)
  • That Pac-12 home teams are only 16-14 in conference play ... and UCLA had less than 40,000 at its last home game (44% of capacity) (15%, 32 Votes)
  • That the Buffs have won two of the last three in the series, and could have won four straight (losses by scores of 35-31 and 27-23) (10%, 22 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
