Colorado 34, No. 24 Arizona State 31. Thoughts?
- Snapping a 29-game road losing streak to top 25 teams, and doing it in Mel Tucker's first road game? A big win for 2019 ... but an even bigger win for the program going forward (51%, 253 Votes)
- What a HUGE win for the program, and for Mel Tucker & Co. - this team has heart, and some talent. The Pac-12 has any number of flawed teams - this could be a very exciting year! (30%, 147 Votes)
- A big win, but let's see how long Laviska Shenault and Mustafa Johnson will be out. It will be hard for the Buffs to win games going forward if they lose their two best players for significant time (19%, 93 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at No. 24 Arizona State ...
- I believe Mel Tucker & Co. will have this team ready to go. If CU had won in overtime last weekend, and ASU had lost in overtime, fans would not be so pessimistic. Buffs post a win in Tempe! (48%, 124 Votes)
- This will be close, as the Buffs will score (though perhaps not until the second half), but I'm afraid it will be another close loss for the Buffs (34%, 89 Votes)
- ASU hasn't allowed a point in the first three quarters of its first three games. I'm afraid the Buffs will fall behind ... and it will turn into a rout on the road. ASU wins big ... (18%, 46 Votes)

Which Pac-12 game this weekend holds the most interest for you?
- No. 10 Utah at USC (Friday) - Will the Utes emerge as the clear Pac-12 South favorite, or will the Trojans get their act together? (75%, 188 Votes)
- No. 23 at Ole Miss - Can the Bears take down two former Pac-12 coaches (OC Rich Rodriguez and DC Mike MacIntyre)? (13%, 34 Votes)
- No. 22 Washington at BYU - The Huskies reasserting dominance, or the Cougars taking down another Pac-12 Power? (4%, 11 Votes)
- No. 16 Oregon at Stanford - Stanford has ruined several playoff runs for Oregon in the past. This year? Will the Ducks exact some revenge with a beatdown? (4%, 10 Votes)
- UCLA at No. 19 Washington State - The train wreck which is UCLA football continues. Have the Bruins already given up on the season, or will they put up a fight? (4%, 9 Votes)

What is your current confidence level for the CU football program in Year One under Mel Tucker?
- Confident. It may take some time to get the right players, and there will be some growing pains, but the trajectory is definitely going up! (60%, 235 Votes)
- Somewhat confident. I'd like to believe, but I've believed in other new coaches over the past 15 years ... only to be disappointed (21%, 82 Votes)
- Extremely confident. CU finally has the AD, facilities and coach to bring the Buffs back to national prominence (15%, 59 Votes)
- Not very confident. If you can't beat a mediocre MWC team at home, how are you going to fare against ranked Pac-12 teams? Want to watch ranked CU teams? Stick with CU volleyball and soccer (4%, 14 Votes)

As CU opens Pac-12, what is your prediction for the Buffs' 2019 conference record?
- 4-5 ... The games against the Arizona schools are both winnable, as are the games against UCLA and Stanford. Buffs are going bowling! (42%, 154 Votes)
- 3-6 ... The Buffs will be competitive, but there are still too many holes to fill. CU finishes 5-7 for the third straight season (25%, 92 Votes)
- 5-4 ... Three road losses - Oregon; Washington State; Utah - plus a loss to Washington at home (12%, 42 Votes)
- 2-7 ... In case you hadn't noticed, half of the teams in the Pac-12 are ranked, and the Buffs will play five of them. It's just too tough a schedule for this team (11%, 41 Votes)
- 1-8 ... Air Force was the second-worst team left on the schedule, and the Buffs lost. The game against UCLA will be for 5th place in the Pac-12 South (5%, 18 Votes)
- 6-3 ... Right now, only road games at Oregon, Washington State, and Utah appear to be out of reach (5%, 16 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
