Report: "No major traction" between CU and Eric Bieniemy. Thoughts?
- Makes sense. Bieniemy is a year, two years at the most, away from an NFL head coaching position. That's his trajectory, so CU & Bieniemy wouldn't have been a good fit (59%, 301 Votes)
- We can't worry about someone who doesn't want to be in Boulder (or has a better opportunity coming). We should have our man by the end of the week, and the Bieniemy flirtation will be a memory (35%, 180 Votes)
- I'm disappointed. CU is in need of a splash hire in order to get back on the positive side of the national conversation. This is another black eye for the Buffs (6%, 31 Votes)

What for you was the worst news from Monday?
- That CU was interviewing Bret Bielema. He left Wisconsin in a contract dispute, and fared poorly at Arkansas. Plus, if he were to be successful, he would leave CU in a heartbeat. Just say no! (42%, 209 Votes)
- That CU was losing OC Jay Johnson and OL coach Chris Kapilovic to Michigan State. Both were highly thought of ... and leaves CU that much less stable going forward (41%, 206 Votes)
- That CU has gone another day without a head coach. "We hope to finish this process in a timely manner" is not reassuring to fans ... or players (17%, 83 Votes)
Start Date: February 17, 2020 @ 7:05 pm
End Date: No Expiry
What do you make of Chris Fowler's comment about "prominent guys" being interested in CU's head coaching position?
- Like it, though I'm not sure what to make of the "they might not be head coaches now" comment. Steve Sarkasian? Jim Mora? Bret Bielma? Chris Petersen? (41%, 173 Votes)
- Love it ... Unlike the national media, there are those who understand CU to be a destination position. (Much deserved) good news is coming our way! (41%, 173 Votes)
- I appreciate Chris Fowler wearing his CU alumnus hat, but with the search limited to a "Committee of Two", his speculation is no more valuable than that of anyone else (18%, 73 Votes)
Start Date: February 16, 2020 @ 6:04 pm

What timeline are you looking for concerning the naming of CU's next head coach?
- I don't have a timeline. It's important - check that, vital - to get this hire right, even if it means messing with spring practices in Year One (50%, 212 Votes)
- By the end of the month at the latest. Spring practices begin March 14th, and you would think CU would want their new coach to have at least two weeks to prepare (26%, 108 Votes)
- By next Wednesday at the latest. It only took Michigan State a week to find their coach. The longer CU waits, the worse it looks (and the more players and assistant coaches CU may lose) (24%, 100 Votes)
Start Date: February 15, 2020 @ 7:50 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which of the following "outside of the box" candidates would you most like to see as CU's next head coach?
- Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian - He seems to have cleaned up his act since being fired at USC, and was also successful at Washington. He knows the Pac-12 (68%, 244 Votes)
- Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin - CU fans are thinking "Dan Hawkins" - Rick George might be thinking "Chris Petersen" (13%, 48 Votes)
- Arizona State DC Marvin Lewis - The former NFL head coach just recently returned to the college game to coach with Herm Edwards. Maybe he wants his own gig (12%, 42 Votes)
- North Dakota State head coach Matt Entz - The last two North Dakota State head coaches are doing well at Wyoming and Kansas State respectively (7%, 27 Votes)
Start Date: February 14, 2020 @ 7:42 pm

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
