CU opens as a 22-point underdog to No. 13 Oregon (Friday, 8:00 p.m., MT, FS1). Thoughts?
  • About right. The CU offense will be able to put up some points, enough to keep it "respectable", but right now respectable is about three touchdowns (47%, 118 Votes)
  • Too high. Oregon only scored 17 points against Cal, and the Buffs' offense is good enough to score some points. Not planning a victory, but it won't be a three-touchdown spread (29%, 73 Votes)
  • Too low. Hate to say it, but Justin Herbert throwing against a secondary made up of third-stringers? It's the worst time to face an offense like Oregon's. I fear a blowout (24%, 59 Votes)

Arizona 35, Colorado 30. Thoughts?
  • Eight penalties for 85 yards, and a failure to score touchdowns instead of field goals. This team still has some growing up to do. Looks like another 5-7 team to me (61%, 234 Votes)
  • CU's two stars - Shenault and Johnson - didn't play. Arizona's star quarterback, Kahlil Tate, was cleared to play. There's your five-point difference right there (23%, 88 Votes)
  • It may sound strange, but I am actually encouraged. The Buffs fought throughout the game, and came up just short. This is a better team than the 2017-18 squads, and will improve rather than slide back (16%, 60 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado v. Arizona - Saturday, 2:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks ...
  • This game is too close to call. I would like to say the Buffs will find a way to win ... Okay, I'll say it: Buffs will find a way to win (47%, 145 Votes)
  • I have a really good feeling about this game. ASU is better than Arizona, and this game is at home. Buffs put together a complete game in assuming the top spot in the Pac-12 South standings (41%, 126 Votes)
  • I have a queasy feeling about this game. With our luck, Kahlil Tate will not only play, but have another career day vs. CU's suspect defense. It'll be close (again), but the Wildcats win (again) (12%, 37 Votes)

Which of the other three Pac-12 games this weekend holds the most interest for you?
  • California at No. 13 Oregon ... Without injured quarterback Chase Garbers, the Bears have no chance - but CU's next game is in Eugene, so the game bears watching (70%, 160 Votes)
  • No. 15 Washington at Stanford ... The Huskies are big favorites over the reeling Cardinal. Stanford may be the easiest home game left on CU's schedule - is Stanford heading south? (18%, 41 Votes)
  • Oregon State at UCLA ... The Bruins may be 1-4, but they are 1-1 in Pac-12 play. CU has finished last in the Pac-12 South seven of eight years. UCLA may sink to the bottom in 2019 (12%, 29 Votes)

Start Date: October 3, 2019 @ 6:17 pm

Which stats about the Arizona Wildcats do you find most disconcerting?
  • That Arizona leads the Pac-12 in rushing (255.5 yards/game) and is fifth in the nation in total offense (552.3 yards/game) (68%, 233 Votes)
  • None of the above. Nothing about this game worries me. Buffs are going to roll the Wildcats! (16%, 56 Votes)
  • That Arizona has held back-to-back Power Five opponents to 20 points or less for the first time since 2010, and leads the nation in interceptions, with nine (10%, 35 Votes)
  • That Arizona has come back from fourth quarter deficits to win its last two games (after going 25 straight games failing to mount a fourth-quarter comeback). A confidence booster, to be sure (6%, 18 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
