No. 13 Oregon 45, Colorado 3. Thoughts?
  • Starting five freshmen is never going to work out well against a Top 25 team on the road. The defense needs to get some players healthy, and fast, before this spins out of control (60%, 178 Votes)
  • An ugly game, to be sure, but it was one tipped ball away from being 17-10 at halftime. Work to do, but there is plenty for Tucker & Co. to build on going forward against lesser opponents (23%, 70 Votes)
  • A crushing defeat. The Buffs lost seven straight to end the 2018 season. Do I hear eight straight to close out the 2019 campaign? After this game, it's not hard to imagine it happening (17%, 51 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at No. 13 Oregon. Friday, 8:00 p.m., MT, FS1
  • The Buffs have given up 30 or more in each game, and the Ducks are giving up less than 10. Mel Tucker's Buffs won't give up, but the Ducks will still win comfortably (54%, 180 Votes)
  • I fear the worst. Justin Herbert v. a defensive backfield with only one starter left from the season opener? This is going to be a rout (28%, 94 Votes)
  • No one thought the Buffs would win in Eugene in 2016, either. Faith, Buff fans - CU will not only keep it close, they have a chance to win! (18%, 62 Votes)

Start Date: October 10, 2019 @ 6:54 pm

The Saturday Pac-12 game which for me holds the most interest is ...
  • USC at No. 9 Notre Dame - Will this be the final game of the Clay Helton era at USC? (35%, 84 Votes)
  • Washington State at No. 18 Arizona State - Will the Cougars head back to Pullman to face CU on a three-game losing streak? (33%, 79 Votes)
  • Washington at Arizona - The unthinkable (Cougars with three Pac-12 losses in mid-October; Wildcats atop the Pac-12 South) actually come to fruition? (29%, 69 Votes)
  • No. 15 Utah at Oregon State - Beavers playing better of late - will they give the Utes a run for their money? (3%, 7 Votes)

Start Date: October 9, 2019 @ 6:06 pm
End Date: No Expiry

CU updated injury report includes over a half dozen starters. Thoughts?
  • It's not so much the injuries, but the positions. Losses in the defense are forcing freshmen (and a converted QB) onto the field ... and that doesn't bode well with explosive offenses coming up (53%, 145 Votes)
  • I'm with Coach Tucker - Buffs still had 11 players on the field for every play last weekend. No excuses! Next man up! (26%, 72 Votes)
  • It's devastating. National pundits won't recognize it, but injuries and lack of depth are the main reasons the Buffs seem destined for another losing record (21%, 55 Votes)

Start Date: October 8, 2019 @ 5:48 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Which of Neill Woelk's Takeaways from the Arizona game to you rings the most true?
  • Colorado's rushing attack is becoming more and more of a dependable weapon (40%, 85 Votes)
  • Colorado's specialists have become reliable weapons (35%, 74 Votes)
  • Offensive coordinator Jay Johnson's play calling continues to be a nice mix of innovation and patience (21%, 44 Votes)
  • Quarterback Steven Montez continues to grow in Johnson's offense (4%, 10 Votes)

Start Date: October 7, 2019 @ 6:26 pm

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
