Would the return of Laviska Shenault be the difference in a game against Washington State?
  • Maybe ... but we also need to get Evan Worthington back ... and K.D. Nixon ... and Jay MacIntyre ... and maybe a kicker or two (48%, 145 Votes)
  • No. There are too many issues with the offensive line and secondary for the return of one player to make a difference against the Cougars (32%, 96 Votes)
  • Yes. It's no coincidence that CU is 5-0 in games in which Shenault has played the entire game; 0-4 when he hasn't (20%, 62 Votes)

5 Dimes: CU a 5.0-point underdog to No. 10 Washington State. Thoughts?
  • Las Vegas doesn't know what we know. Gardner Mishew is going to have a field day against CU's secondary. Give the points, and clean up Saturday night (41%, 137 Votes)
  • Hope for the best - and expect the worst. That's why they play the game - the Buffs have a chance if they play their best (35%, 118 Votes)
  • Las Vegas has more respect for the Buffs than does their fans. Less than a TD underdog to the No. 10 team in the country? Not bad (24%, 82 Votes)

Which team will win the Pac-12 South?
  • USC (5-4, 4-3) ... With Cal and UCLA left, the Trojans have the easiest path to the title (49%, 99 Votes)
  • Arizona State (5-4, 3-3) ... Sun Devils have the tie-breaker over both Utah and USC, having beaten both the past two weeks (33%, 67 Votes)
  • Utah (6-3, 4-3) ... The Utes may have lost Huntley, but still have CU on the schedule (plus Oregon at home) (13%, 26 Votes)
  • Arizona (5-5, 4-3) ... The Wildcats are playing well right now, and have a shot at Washington State before finishing with ASU (5%, 12 Votes)

Arizona 42, Colorado 34. Thoughts?
  • A loss is a loss is a loss. CU now 0-7 over two seasons in looking for win No. 6 and bowl eligibility. The Buffs appear to be heading for another 5-7 finish ... and perhaps a new coaching staff (71%, 263 Votes)
  • In every close loss, there are missed opportunities. CU could have been up 21-0 in the first quarter, but settled for 10-0. This one hurts ... and will for some time (25%, 93 Votes)
  • If one can be encouraged by a tough loss, this is it. The Buffs showed resiliency and fight, when many CU fans thought this would be a rout. I'm encouraged about this team going forward (4%, 17 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for CU's trip to Tucson to take on Arizona ...
  • Buffs rally! If you look at the stats, CU is actually the better team. The 18-22 year olds wearing the uniforms prove to be more resilient than their fans, and pick up win No. 6 (46%, 133 Votes)
  • The teams are trending in opposite directions. I hate to say it, but I see the Buffs losing this one big (30%, 88 Votes)
  • I foresee a close game, but I'm afraid that it will be another disappointing loss for the Buff Nation (24%, 68 Votes)

  1. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  2. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  3. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
