Which of the other Pac-12 games Saturday will hold for you the most interest?
  • No. 9 Utah at Washington - The Utes' defense has been dominant of late - can Utah make a case as a national player by defeating the Huskies on the road? (55%, 102 Votes)
  • No. 7 Oregon at USC - The Trojans looked good at times against CU (and vulnerable in others). Is this a make-or-break game for Clay Helton? Can the Ducks clear their last major regular season hurdle? (42%, 78 Votes)
  • Oregon State at Arizona - Believe it or not, the Beavers take over second place in the Pac-12 North with a win ... Arizona has lost three straight (3%, 5 Votes)

Which CU/UCLA factoid gives you the most optimism about the Buffs trip to Pasadena?
  • That UCLA is 112th in the nation in total defense, giving up 450.1 yards/game, and 114th in scoring defense, surrendering 34.3 points per outing (75%, 166 Votes)
  • That Pac-12 home teams are only 16-14 in conference play ... and UCLA had less than 40,000 at its last home game (44% of capacity) (15%, 32 Votes)
  • That the Buffs have won two of the last three in the series, and could have won four straight (losses by scores of 35-31 and 27-23) (10%, 22 Votes)

  • "There is a difference between being disappointed and being discouraged ... I am disappointed but I am not discouraged" (48%, 94 Votes)

Mel Tucker: "I believe in this football team that we can we can get the job done” - Your degree of confidence in this statement:
  • Medium. I'm trying to keep the faith (and the USC game helped a bit), but I'm afraid its going to take several years to get back to posting winning seasons on a regular basis (52%, 163 Votes)
  • High. In his first season, Tucker has beaten two ranked teams (equal to that of MM in six seasons), and almost posted CU's first-ever win over USC. The improvement is already clear to see (34%, 106 Votes)
  • Low. Did you watch the Oregon (45-3) and Washington State (41-10) games? Another season with zero chance at a bowl before Halloween. Not seeing much of a difference from prior years (14%, 44 Votes)

Start Date: October 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

Will the Pac-12 have a participant in the College Football Playoff?
  • No. The SEC will get two entrants, to go with Clemson and the winner of the Big Ten. The Pac-12 will be shut out again (48%, 119 Votes)
  • Ask me after this weekend. If Oregon (at USC) and Utah (at Washington) win this weekend, their paths to the title game get much easier, making the Pac-12 title game a matchup of two top ten teams (45%, 110 Votes)
  • Yes. Oregon is up to seventh in the polls; Utah is up to ninth. With the other contenders falling off one by one, the winner of the Pac-12 will be an entrant (7%, 17 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
