Which of the following quotes gives you the most pause about the Pac-12 being back on the field on October 31st?
  • Larry Scott: "We’re going to take stock of where we are and see if we’re comfortable with a path forward before Jan. 1 ... I'm not going to push for a vote" (36%, 48 Votes)
  • Pac-12 head coach: "If the Pac-12 says health and safety is their No. 1 priority ... then they’re just full of sh*t. What really has changed here since last week?" (32%, 43 Votes)
  • Another Pac-12 head coach: "To play football, you actually have to practice football. Forget scheme, our guys are basically doing combine training. But that doesn’t get you ready to play games" (32%, 43 Votes)

Report: Pac-12 to play an eight-game, conference-only schedule beginning October 31st. Thoughts?
  • I'm all in! Glad to see that the Pac-12 will not be left behind, and will have a chance at getting a team into the College Football Playoff (and remain nationally relevant) (55%, 112 Votes)
  • I'm excited to see CU's schedule (assuming original eight - Oregon at home; no OSU). Can't wait to actually have games at Folsom to look forward to! (29%, 58 Votes)
  • This is a pipe dream. This is why the Pac-12 shouldn't have canceled so early. If the Pac-12 was starting the end of September, there would be enough flexibility to actually get in a eight games (16%, 32 Votes)

Steps being taken for Pac-12 to follow Big Ten's lead and play football as early as October 24th. Thoughts?
  • I'm just pissed that the Pac-12 waited for the Big Ten to announce before even considering moving forward. Way to look like a little brother (again!), Pac-12! (42%, 103 Votes)
  • Great news! I just hope that the conference can work out the details with the CA and OR health officials fast enough to make this a reality (36%, 88 Votes)
  • I'll believe it when I see it. The Big Ten has a plan for a nine-game schedule in place, including a title game. What does the Pac-12 have? Nothing yet ... we'll see if they can pull it off (22%, 53 Votes)

Big Ten votes to return to the field, effective October 24th. Thoughts?
  • Good for the Big Ten. Larry Scott & Pac-12 Presidents - the ball is in your court. Do you want to figure this out? Or are you content being the laughing stock of the sports world? (54%, 88 Votes)
  • We'll see. October 24th is still a ways off. I'm still not convinced (see: games already postponed) that there will be a full season for anyone this fall (26%, 43 Votes)
  • It's been tough to be a CU fan the past 15 years, but never more so than now. I feel for CU's athletes, who have no voice in their future (20%, 32 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
