It's (finally) time! Your prediction for Northern Colorado at Colorado - Friday, 7:00 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks
- CU may not cover the spread (35.5 points is a lot!), but this will be a comfortable win. Buffs will go up by two scores early, then slowly but surely pull away for a three- or four-score victory (49%, 180 Votes)
- Okay, I'll admit it: I'm a little concerned. Not that CU will lose, but that the game will be like CU/UNC in 2017 - a 28-21 game in the third, CU pulling away late for a 41-21 win. A nervous night (35%, 129 Votes)
- Zero fear of this game. UNC is predicted to finish in the bottom half of the Big Sky Conference, and this Buff team has something to prove. CU in a rout - and that will be clear in the first quarter (16%, 56 Votes)

What to you was the best news of the day for the Buff Nation?
- I like the Mustafa Johnson news. Even if Johnson won't be on the field for a few weeks, if he can be there for most of the Pac-12 campaign - that's huge. One of the best 2020 defenders back? Yea!! (71%, 250 Votes)
- I like the Nate Landman quote: “I’m definitely not the same player ... I think I’m a better player". Landman was playing at an All-American level last fall before he got hurt - and he's better? (16%, 56 Votes)
- I like that we now know for sure that we will have a Ralphie VI this year. It seemed like that was a real issue, so it's nice the tradition will continue (and the video? First rate!!) (13%, 47 Votes)
Start Date: September 1, 2021 @ 4:52 pm

CU listed at one sports book as a 35.5-point favorite over Northern Colorado. Thoughts?
- Can the Buffs win big? Sure. Will they? I don't know. Dorrell took the pedal off the gas in a couple of wins last year, and he was McCaffrey's NFL coach ... he may not want to embarrass the Bears (50%, 147 Votes)
- Maybe, but that sounds like a tough ask. Isn't this the same CU offense which scored 28.5 points/game last year? I can see the Buffs winning handily, but I wouldn't bet on this offense to get to 40+ (36%, 106 Votes)
- Sounds about right. CU will be focused, and Northern Colorado, even with the transfers, is still projected as one of worst teams in the Big Sky Conference. Blowout or bust, Buffs! (14%, 40 Votes)
Start Date: August 31, 2021 @ 4:52 pm
End Date: No Expiry
The college football news of the day do you find to be the most interesting?
- That Sam Noyer was named as the starter at quarterback at Oregon State. I wish him well ... except against CU on November 6th, of course (50%, 140 Votes)
- That Nebraska's 375-game sell-out streak may be coming to an end. Not that the actual streak didn't end years ago ... but that Nebraska might actually admit that it's over (41%, 114 Votes)
- That UCLA is getting grief for having only 32,000 in the stands for the home opener. There will be more than double that number this weekend ... with LSU taking over the Rose Bowl (9%, 24 Votes)
Start Date: August 30, 2021 @ 5:31 pm
End Date: No Expiry
It's (finally) Game Week! Rate your level of excitement for the debut of the 2021 season - CU v. Northern Colorado (Friday, 7:00 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks)
- High. Are you kidding? We've waited eight months for the Buffs to take field, put the Alamo Bowl behind them, and show what they can do in Year Two under Karl Dorrell (72%, 278 Votes)
- Medium. A more quality opponent may have been preferable, but, with CU having a new QB and Texas A&M up next, this might be the perfect opponent (22%, 84 Votes)
- Low. A Friday night game against one of the worst (if not the worst) team in the Big Sky Conference. If this game is even close, the Buffs might not win another game all year (6%, 25 Votes)
Start Date: August 29, 2021 @ 4:49 pm
End Date: No Expiry

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
