CU hires its new defensive line coach, Vic So'oto. Thoughts?
- Wow ... just wow! A well-respected young coach with a reputation as being a good recruiter. Love this hire! (50%, 139 Votes)
- As with everything else, it's a wait-and-see with the new coaches. It does seem like Dorrell is addressing huge needs along both lines, which is good to see. Fingers crossed (47%, 129 Votes)
- He is young, and only has two years experience in the Pac-12. I hope this is not another case (like OC Sanford) of the coach (in this case Lincoln Riley) not wanting to retain the coach (3%, 8 Votes)

Air Force and Minnesota (CU road non-conference opponents in 2022) both win their bowl games. Thoughts?
- Doesn't really matter ... Air Force (10-3) and Minnesota (9-4) will both have their way with the Buffs next September. Would have been the case even if they had both lost their bowl games (38%, 85 Votes)
- Both the Falcons and Golden Gophers ended their seasons on highs, and that can help buoy the team (a feeling CU hasn't had since winning the Houston Bowl in 2004) (32%, 72 Votes)
- Bowl games mean little. With opt-outs, COVID issues, and coaching changes, results in bowl games have little or no bearing on the following season (30%, 66 Votes)

Safety Mark Perry becomes the second starting defensive back to enter the Transfer Portal. Thoughts?
- Well, this just sucks. Gonzalez and Perry were not only starters, but were on the field for more plays than any other defenders. A crippling blow to the defensive backfield (43%, 145 Votes)
- We'll have to see how this plays out, but losing the CB coach and the top two defensive players hurts. Let's see who CU gets as replacements for his coach and DB's before pressing the panic button (32%, 106 Votes)
- Another "CU can't have nice things" story. Karl Dorrell is all about building a culture, but it doesn't sound like the message is getting through. Doesn't bode well for his future (25%, 85 Votes)

Which to you represents the most interesting quote from Houston transfer quarterback Maddox Kopp?
- "I have a feel for what they want to do on offense ... They want to do a lot of the RPO stuff and then they want to do the Pro Style, mixture of both ... Run the ball downfield and then take shots" (48%, 108 Votes)
- "It was mostly (CU director of player personnel and coach's son) Chandler Dorrell (who recruited me). He was the main person who was reaching out" (38%, 85 Votes)
- "One of the main reasons I went to the portal was that I just wanted the opportunity to compete and get better ... I think competition brings the best out of everybody" (14%, 32 Votes)

If you were granted one wish for the CU football team, which of the following would you wish for?
- A huge donor (here's looking at you, South Park guys!) to come in and be the Phil Knight/T. Boone Pickens for CU, and save the program from itself with a huge influx of $$$$ (51%, 187 Votes)
- A CU President and Regents who actually understand that the football program is the front porch of the University, and dedicate resources to shore up CU athletics (42%, 153 Votes)
- New leadership in the Champions Center who will focus on fund raising and recruiting, and get the Buffs back to being a legitimate player in college football (7%, 26 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
