Colorado opens as a two-touchdown underdogs to Arizona State (Sat., 8:30 p.m., MT, ESPNU). Thoughts?
- This is a joke, right? The CU offense hasn't scored in seven quarters, and isn't showing any signs of life. I fear another rout is in the offing (62%, 237 Votes)
- Sounds about right. Arizona State was exposed by BYU, the first team the Sun Devils played of any substance, but the Buffs right now just aren't up to the challenge (20%, 78 Votes)
- I actually think the Buffs will respond. Not quite ready to predict an upset, but this team was embarrassed, and will hang tough with the Sun Devils (18%, 68 Votes)

Colorado embarrassed by Minnesota, 30-0. Thoughts?
- If Darrin Chiaverini is still the offensive coordinator Monday, there needs to be an investigation. A rout by a middling Big Ten team? At home? Unforgivable (54%, 253 Votes)
- I was worried about a down performance, but this was devastating. Dorrell better find a way to rally the troops, or its down to a two-game season (Arizona and Oregon State) (41%, 191 Votes)
- Well, CU is down to two first-team All-Pac-12 performers: Linebacker Nate Landman and punter Josh Watts (50.9 yards/punt on nine punts). After that? Crickets (5%, 21 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado v. Minnesota (Saturday, 11:00 a.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks)
- Everything about this screams close game. Rushing teams = fewer possessions and a low score. If the game was in Minneapolis this weekend, I might pick the Gophers, but I'll take CU in a close one (44%, 120 Votes)
- I have a good feeling about this. Minnesota's rushing game plays into CU's strengths on defense, and the Gophers have a porous passing defense. Buffs pull away to go 2-1! (42%, 115 Votes)
- I'll admit it, I'm worried. Close games can come down to kickers. Minnesota has a good one, while CU has an 0-2 freshman. Another (frustratingly) close loss (14%, 38 Votes)

How will the firing of head coach Clay Helton after two games affect USC the rest of the season?
- I'm not sure how it will affect the Trojans against the rest of their schedule, but I wouldn't mind if the Trojans were a bit distracted when they come to Boulder on October 2nd (75%, 201 Votes)
- I can see the Trojans going south. The loss to Stanford all but eliminated USC from the College Football Playoff debate, and Bohn promoted the CB coach instead of one of the coordinators (14%, 39 Votes)
- It will - I'm afraid - rally the troops, and make the Trojans all the more difficult to defeat the rest of the season. USC will circle the wagons, and probably win ten or more games (11%, 29 Votes)

What to you was the best quote from CU defensive coordinator Chris Wilson?
- On linebacker Nate Landman: “You get what you earn. It’s nice to see his hard work paying off. It’s contagious for the rest of the guys. There are no short cuts” (41%, 100 Votes)
- On returning defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson: “He is working his way back into football shape. He’s so motivated. Right now, he’s our best scout team guy – and he volunteered for that” (40%, 99 Votes)
- On the improvement of cornerback Christian Gonzalez: “Fundamentals. Attention to details. He’s always had great talent, but he now understands the importance of technique” (19%, 46 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
