Which of following Pac-12 games for you holds the most interest this weekend?
  • USC at Oregon State (7:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks) - Same question, different team - Oregon State has looked good so far, but good enough to take down the talented Trojans? (39%, 72 Votes)
  • Arizona at Cal (3:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks) - I'm still CU-centric, and these two teams are CU's next two opponents (and I'm still looking for a spot where CU can post a "W") (32%, 60 Votes)
  • Oregon at Washington State (2:00 p.m., MT, Fox) - Are the Cougars for real? We'll find out this weekend ... because the Ducks seem to have put the blasting by Georgia behind them (25%, 46 Votes)
  • Utah at Arizona State (8:30 p.m., MT, ESPN) - Arizona State has shifted the narrative from the past to the future, but the future looks pretty bleak. Seems like Utah can name its score here (4%, 7 Votes)

Which of the following factoids about the CU/UCLA game gives you the most hope for the Buffs for an upset?
  • That UCLA has a big home game against Washington coming up on Friday night. Chip Kelly will want to keep it vanilla against CU, and not risk an injury to DTR, giving CU a chance to keep it close (50%, 103 Votes)
  • That UCLA has played its last three games at home (in front of sparse crowds), and will (understandably) be looking past the Buffs. They won't be ready for an 11:00 a.m. (PT) kickoff on the road (25%, 53 Votes)
  • That UCLA has lost three straight games in Boulder, including the last two with Chip Kelly as head coach and DTR at quarterback. Buffs have a way of finding a "W" when the Bruins come to town (25%, 52 Votes)

Best guess: When will the Karl Dorrell era at CU come to an end?
  • After losing to UCLA and Arizona. Not only will losing to a team which won one game in 35 before this season be a bad look, it will give the team (and the interim coach) a bye week to regroup (35%, 114 Votes)
  • After the end of the season. I can't see Dorrell surviving past the end of the season, but I can see the CU administration allowing the hole to be dug even deeper before pulling the plug (33%, 108 Votes)
  • Not for another year - at least. Dorrell can still turn it around this year, and will be given at least one more year to show his designs for the program can work out (21%, 69 Votes)
  • After this weekend. Another brutal loss, with the stands near empty in the fourth quarter, will be the final straw. Dorrell is on notice: Win now, or else (11%, 39 Votes)

Which of the following excerpts from the statement by CU athletic director Rick George leaves you the most frustrated?
  • “Regardless of your feelings right now, I encourage you to continue to support our tremendous football student-athletes". Not supporting the coaches doesn't mean we don't support the players (41%, 93 Votes)
  • "I recognize and understand your disappointment and frustration and perhaps, even anger. We have not come close to meeting our expectations this season and we own that" ... By making changes? (33%, 75 Votes)
  • “I know that our coaches and our student-athletes are capable of so much more and that all of you deserve better results" - And yet ... no changes. When do we get what we "deserve"? (26%, 58 Votes)

Arizona State fires Herm Edwards after the Sun Devils (1-2) fall 30-21 to Eastern Michigan. Thoughts?
  • So ... Nebraska can fire its coach in September, and ASU can fire its coach (with three winning seasons and a 26-20 record) in September, but in Boulder ... crickets. I hate this (56%, 176 Votes)
  • I just hope that the firing does not keep the NCAA from doing its job and punishing the ASU program. ASU got three winning seasons and bowls by cheating ... there needs to be justice (37%, 115 Votes)
  • Arizona State just got tired of waiting for the NCAA to give cause for firing. Buyout right about $10 million, but the future of the program was apparently worth it to act now (7%, 21 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
