Karl Dorrell: Owen McCown to get his first road start this weekend against Arizona. Thoughts?
- Makes sense. As Dorrell said, "His overall body of work was pretty solid". The other QB's had their shot and didn't produce. Let's see what the freshman can do (44%, 115 Votes)
- It only makes sense if the coaching staff can design an offense which won't get him killed (no rushing attack and five sacks v. UCLA). McCown won't last the season without help (35%, 92 Votes)
- I'm just glad CU isn't going for the fourth new QB in five games. At some point, the coaching staff has to make a decision and live with it. Get McCown first team reps and see what he can do (21%, 54 Votes)

Colorado a 17.5-point underdog to Arizona (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., MT). Thoughts?
- So ... Arizona a favorite for the first time in a Pac-12 game since 2019, and a three-score favorite in a Pac-12 game for the first time since 2017. Well done, CU ... yet another new low (59%, 184 Votes)
- Sounds about right (sad to say). Arizona is not going to be confused by anyone as a good team, but until the Buffs can learn how to score, any margin will be worth betting. Take Arizona (29%, 91 Votes)
- Let me get this straight - Arizona State, which is a hot mess, has the same line as CU (a 17.5-point underdog on the road). CU is playing Arizona; ASU is playing USC - think about that one (12%, 38 Votes)

UCLA defeats Colorado, 45-17, for the Bruins' first win at Folsom since 2014. Thoughts?
- Embarrassed. Disgusted. Ashamed. If Karl Dorrell remains the head coach at Colorado, it's a clear sign CU doesn't care about being competitive. If CU doesn't care, why should I? (48%, 200 Votes)
- Freshman Owen McCown actually gives the Buff Nation some hope for the future. McCown made some freshman plays, but he also generated some actual offense ... and something positive to build on (37%, 153 Votes)
- The only thing this Buff team is good for is making money betting against them. Take the opponent and give whatever points are asked ... a sure winner (heavy sigh) (15%, 61 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado v. UCLA (Saturday noon, MT, Pac-12 Networks)
- The Buffs have lost by 25 to TCU; 31 to Air Force; and 42 to Minnesota. Could the Buffs lose by 50 to UCLA? Probably not ... but it will be a blowout (59%, 125 Votes)
- It's a 21-point spread, and that sounds about right. This is UCLA's first road game, and first game against a "Power Five" team. An easy win for the Bruins, but a backdoor cover for the Buffs (27%, 58 Votes)
- UCLA has fallen behind the likes of Bowling Green and South Alabama. On the road, with a big game against Washington next Friday, the Bruins will be looking past CU. Buffs pick up an upset win (14%, 28 Votes)
Start Date: September 23, 2022 @ 2:45 pm

Which of following Pac-12 games for you holds the most interest this weekend?
- USC at Oregon State (7:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks) - Same question, different team - Oregon State has looked good so far, but good enough to take down the talented Trojans? (39%, 72 Votes)
- Arizona at Cal (3:30 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks) - I'm still CU-centric, and these two teams are CU's next two opponents (and I'm still looking for a spot where CU can post a "W") (32%, 60 Votes)
- Oregon at Washington State (2:00 p.m., MT, Fox) - Are the Cougars for real? We'll find out this weekend ... because the Ducks seem to have put the blasting by Georgia behind them (25%, 46 Votes)
- Utah at Arizona State (8:30 p.m., MT, ESPN) - Arizona State has shifted the narrative from the past to the future, but the future looks pretty bleak. Seems like Utah can name its score here (4%, 7 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
