CU ranked No. 21 in latest AP poll (22nd in USA Today/Coaches' poll). Thoughts?
  • Love it, but I hope it doesn't go to the players' heads. The first quarter v. UA looked like the Buffs thought they could show up and get the victory. A similar attitude v. Utah will end in defeat (56%, 207 Votes)
  • Nice recognition for the team. Can we call it now? Karl Dorrell for Pac-12 (and perhaps national) coach of the year? Keep it up, Buffs! (24%, 91 Votes)
  • It's about time. You can count the number of undefeated Power Five schools on one hand, but CU was the last to obtain any national recognition (20%, 74 Votes)

Colorado 24, Arizona 13. Thoughts?
  • I love this team. Down 13-0, the Buffs did not panic, and rallied to score the final 24 points. Great team win! Neither Washington nor Oregon could overcome similar deficits - just sayin'! (70%, 323 Votes)
  • I just love that Broussard went for 301 yards, with runs of 75, 72, and 59 yards ... and didn't score. Strange game! (18%, 83 Votes)
  • In case you didn't notice, the Buffs fell behind the worst team in the league (with a backup quarterback). The Wildcats exposed the Buffs' weaknesses (12%, 58 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for Colorado at Arizona (5:00 p.m., MT, FS1) ...
  • I can see the Buffs winning, but I can also see the Wildcats keeping it interesting. Just like the first three games, CU fans will be happy - but won't be able to relax until late in the game (72%, 221 Votes)
  • Feels like a blowout to me. Arizona has packed it in for the season (and perhaps Sumlin's career), and the Buffs still have something to prove. Buffs win No. 4 comes in a rout! (17%, 51 Votes)
  • Arizona has CU's number (7-2 since CU joined the Pac-12). UA kept CU from going bowling the past three seasons - fingers crossed they don't make it four (11%, 34 Votes)

Which Pac-12 game (other than CU at Arizona) are you most interested in this weekend?
  • Washington State at USC ... The Trojans may not be as good as projected this preseason, but they are still atop the Pac-12 South until someone beats them. Can the Cougars keep up? (60%, 197 Votes)
  • Oregon State at Utah ... Is it possible that CU could face an 0-3 Utah team next Friday? Oregon State is fresh off of an upset win over Oregon (18%, 59 Votes)
  • UCLA at Arizona State ... Sorry, CU fans, but the winner here is going to be anointed as the No. 2 team in the South for 2021. Bruins have played well since the first half of the opener v. CU (17%, 56 Votes)
  • Stanford at Washington ... Interested to see which Husky team shows up - the one that fell behind Utah 21-0, or the one which out-scored the Utes 24-0 in the second half (4%, 13 Votes)
  • Oregon at California ... The Bears were projected by some to contend for the North title. Now Cal is looking at an 0-4 record to open the 2020 campaign (1%, 2 Votes)

With the cancellation of the Las Vegas Bowl, the Pac-12 is down to three (perhaps four) bowl tie-ins. Thoughts?
  • It's fine for my Buffs. All they have to do is keep playing the way they are playing, and they will be in the top three or four teams in the conference (36%, 96 Votes)
  • You know that this will end up working against the Buffs. CU is bowl-eligible for only the second time in 13 years ... and still won't get to go bowling. Figures (33%, 87 Votes)
  • A bowl would be great, but the main advantage (15 extra practices) won't happen this year anyway. CU is playing to Dec. 18/19. Translation: Only one extra week of practice (and Xmas week, no less) (31%, 82 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
