Will the Buffs be able to overcome the loss of two-time first-team All-Pac-12 linebacker Nate Landman?
- No ... but it should be offset by the number of Texas starters who have opted out. It's up to the CU offense to exploit the holes in the Texas defense more than UT exploits the loss of Landman (64%, 191 Votes)
- No. You don't get first-team All-Pac-12 (and Butkus Award candidates) at CU every day. You can anticipate the Longhorns exploiting the lack of experience (and drop in talent) in the linebacker corps (30%, 89 Votes)
- Yes. It's not as if the CU coaches and players haven't had time to adjust to the loss of Landman (like the second half of the Utah game). I look for the "next man up" for the Buffs to play well (6%, 19 Votes)

What do you like best about CU's Christmas Day commitment from three-star defensive tackle, Victory Vaka?
- I really like his offer sheet. A former Texas A&M commit, Vaka had 20 offers from Power Five conference schools, including half of the Pac-12. This is more like it! (71%, 225 Votes)
- That Vaka is 6'2", 350-pounds - in high school! Get him under Drew Wilson's tutelage, and he could a mainstay in the middle of the line for four years! (22%, 69 Votes)
- What can I say? I like his name - Victory Vaka. Can't wait to get him on the field, and let the announcers have fun with his name ... when Buffs post victories over the next four/five years! (7%, 22 Votes)

Which of these Alamo Bowl Fast Facts to you is the most surprising?
- That the only time the Buffs have won a bowl game in their last six attempts (2004 Houston Bowl), the game was also played on December 29th (we'll take any good karma we can get!) (42%, 84 Votes)
- That in the 18-game all-time series between CU and Texas, the Buffs have a longer win streak in the series (six games: 1989-97) than do the Longhorns (30%, 59 Votes)
- That there have been only 19 true freshman in CU history to be on the field for over 300 snaps - with cornerback Christian Gonzalez joining that list this year (in only five games) (28%, 56 Votes)

Which factoid about Texas from the "T.I.P.S." gives you the most encouragement about the Alamo Bowl?
- That the Longhorns were 114th in the nation in pass defense ... and that was before both safeties opted out. Paging Sam Noyer! (35%, 117 Votes)
- That there are 22 players from Texas on the CU roster This is their chance to gain bragging rights over their teammates from high school ... great motivation for the Buffs! (33%, 108 Votes)
- That six of the seven Texas captains are either injured or have opted out. If the Longhorns' leaders don't care about the game .... it gives us a chance (32%, 107 Votes)

What factoid about the Karl Dorrell's Coach of the Year and Jarek Broussard's Offensive Player of the Year factoids to you is the most surprising?
- That CU played 100 years before ever having a conference Offensive Player of the Year (Darian Hagan, 1989), had five in 13 years, and then none since (Chris Brown, 2002) (56%, 130 Votes)
- That Jarek Broussard is just the sixth Buff to be named a conference Offensive Player of the Year (joining some pretty elite company!) (33%, 77 Votes)
- That Karl Dorrell is just the sixth CU head coach to be named a Conference Coach of the Year (and just the ninth time a CU coach has been honored) (11%, 26 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
