It's time! Your prediction for No. 21 Colorado v. Utah (10:00 a.m., MT, Fox)
  • I'm afraid this will be very close (and low scoring), and will come down to a turnover or special teams gaffe. I am hopeful that the Buffs will be the team to make one less mistake (59%, 185 Votes)
  • The Buffs learned their lesson last weekend, and will be fully prepared for the Utes. I look for the Buffs to come out super-energized, and take it to the Utes to get to 5-0! (30%, 96 Votes)
  • The Buffs are trying to establish themselves as a team with a strong running game and a stout defense. Unfortunately, Utah has been doing that for years, and will have the edge in this game (11%, 35 Votes)

Washington/Oregon game canceled. Washington wins the North, but status unclear for Pac-12 title game. Thoughts?
  • Doesn't matter to me. All that I care about right now is the CU/Utah game. Check back with me about 1:30 on Saturday to see how I feel about the status of the Pac-12 title game ... (83%, 277 Votes)
  • Interesting. This likely eliminates Oregon from the title chase (they wouldn't let a 3-2 play, would they?), and if Washington can't go next week, the door could be open for a CU/USC title game (10%, 34 Votes)
  • Not a good look for the conference. Just like it looks like Michigan ducked Ohio State, it looks like Washington ducked Oregon. The Pac-12 needed to have as many games played as possible (7%, 23 Votes)

Fox moves the CU/Utah game from Friday night at 7:30 to Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. - Thoughts?
  • Love it! CU/Utah becomes the featured game for the "Big Noon (ET) Kickoff". Great national publicity, and a much larger television audience than CU would get on a Friday night on FS1 (71%, 297 Votes)
  • I'm just excited to have Joel Klatt doing the broadcast. He's been an outspoken critic of how the Pac-12 has handled title game issues, and this will give him the chance to vent (& promote CU!) (19%, 78 Votes)
  • Not a big fan. I understand that there are financial advantages to having a Pac-12 breakfast game, but, if I'm going to be home watching my Buffs, I'd rather do it Friday night than Saturday morning (10%, 42 Votes)

Which factoid about Utah gives you the most confidence about the Buffs' game against the Utes?
  • That Utah is last in the Pac-12 in passing offense, generating only 178 yards/game. The most vulnerable unit on the defense - the secondary - won't be facing an air raid offense (44%, 131 Votes)
  • That Utah has scored a grand total of 14 points in the second half of its first three games, with one of the two touchdowns coming on a punt return. Get ahead, Buffs, and stay ahead! (28%, 83 Votes)
  • That Utah is starting four new starters in the defensive backfield, including two freshmen and a sophomore. If Sam Noyer is going to bounce back - here's the opportunity (28%, 82 Votes)

Which of the following Karl Dorrell's quotes from his Monday press conference do you like the best?
  • "We think recruiting has had a lot of interest with people who have watched us play ... They like our style and like what we are doing. We need to use that momentum for future recruiting classes". (51%, 185 Votes)
  • "We have to control this week and not really think about what is going on a week from now. All of that would be for not if we don't play well this week" (37%, 136 Votes)
  • "We were probably a little bit heavy on the run side of the ball the last two games. The goal is to get the energy back in our passing game" (12%, 44 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
