CU installed as a ten-point favorite against CSU in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Thoughts?
- About right. I can see the Buffs struggling early with Ram trick plays and the CU players adjusting to new systems, but in the end the Buffs will pull away for a double-digit win (65%, 185 Votes)
- Too low. Mike Bobo is on his way out, and the Mel Tucker Buffs will come out and dominate this game from beginning to end (20%, 56 Votes)
- Too high. Mike Bobo's job is on the line, and will have a month to prepare. The Rams will fight this one to the end (15%, 45 Votes)

Jon Wilner suggests that the Pac-12 play up to four 10:00 a.m. (MT) games per year. Thoughts?
- I like it. As long as there are the restrictions he suggests (like no team has to play more than one a year; schedule set months in advance), I can live with it if it helps to raise the Pac-12 profile (52%, 75 Votes)
- I hate it. While it might bump up the ratings a tad, I remember the 10:00 Friday Nebraska games. Okay for television - lousy for the fans (27%, 39 Votes)
- Not really big on it, but since Wilner has CU as the No. 1 team in men's basketball right now, I'm willing to give him a pass on this one (21%, 29 Votes)

ESPN moves CU's men's basketball team into its preseason Top 25. Thoughts?
- How big a deal would this be if this holds up? The last time CU men's basketball was ranked in the preseason AP poll? Try 1969 ... exactly 50 years ago! (the only preseason ranking in school history) (40%, 80 Votes)
- Nice, but we'll see how it plays out this fall. CU has significantly upgraded its non-conference schedule, so the Buffs will have their chance to make some noise this season (37%, 73 Votes)
- Well deserved. CU finished 10-8 in Pac-12 play last season, and has all its starters back. It's about time prognosticators noticed that CU has a strong team returning, and should be a Pac-12 favorite (23%, 45 Votes)

Bill Connelly's S&P+ has CU finishing with a 5-7 record in 2019. Thoughts?
- I do like this quote: "With three relative tossups in the first five games, a little over-achievement could produce a fast start". It's up to the Buffs to change the nation's perceptions of CU (70%, 138 Votes)
- Connelly's analysis is very detailed, An objective look at CU, its roster, and its schedule, would say a 5-7 prediction is fair (16%, 32 Votes)
- Not interested. This "expert" has CU calculated to be an underdog in ten of twelve games. Stats don't tell the story of the improved morale in the locker room (14%, 26 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from Recruiting Class of 2020 athlete Chris Carpenter. Thoughts?
- Very excited about this commitment. A speedster who plays on both sides of the ball, Carpenter will be a great addition to the defensive backfield for the Buffs (48%, 122 Votes)
- Somewhat excited. The list of Power-Five offers include Oregon, Arizona State and Oklahoma State. This appears to be a bona-fide talent coming to Boulder (46%, 116 Votes)
- Not super excited. Carpenter's previous commitment was to North Texas. I trust the coaches, but it still seems like an "up-and-comer" recruit, rather than a consensus star-in-the-making (6%, 14 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
