It's time! Your prediction for No. 23 Colorado v. Oklahoma State (Friday, 10:00 a.m., MT, ABC)
  • This is going to be a CU win, and may be comfortable by the fourth quarter, but three scores is a lot to ask. CU wins, but OSU will be able to run the ball (and the clock) enough to keep it close (46%, 118 Votes)
  • Shedeur and Travis are going to go out in style. The Buffs want to change the narrative after the Kansas loss; the Cowboys just want the season to be over. Take the Buffs, and give the 16.5-points! (38%, 98 Votes)
  • After the Kansas game, I am very leery about the regular season finale. Oklahoma State can run the ball, and if the Buffs give up 40 minutes of possession again, I can see OSU pulling an upset (16%, 40 Votes)

Tad Boyle's Buffs stun No. 2 UConn, 73-72, in the second round of the Maui Classic. Thoughts?
  • An amazing win for the Buffs! The preseason was supposed to be some easy wins (plus tournament losses) to help pad CU's record for a tough Big 12 conference schedule. Quite the pleasant surprise! (50%, 122 Votes)
  • If nothing else, this will give the Buffs confidence when they go up against the likes of Kansas, Iowa State and Houston. Hopefully, a confidence boost for a team still getting to know one another (44%, 108 Votes)
  • Yes, UConn is the two-time defending champion, but each season is different. UConn lost to Memphis on Monday, so this may not be a banner year for the Huskies. Time will tell if this is a huge win (6%, 15 Votes)

How would you rate CU's chances of making it to the Big 12 Championship game?
  • Low to Medium. CU had its chance to control its own destiny, and have a ticket punched by Friday afternoon. The other three teams are all favored to win also, and CU needs two of them to lose (56%, 158 Votes)
  • Don't care, actually. I'm just interested in seeing the Buffs finish strong, and take care of business against Oklahoma State. Get to 9-3, tie for the top spot in the Big 12, and see what happens (43%, 121 Votes)
  • Medium to high. Of the four 6-2 teams, CU has the easiest game, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Iowa State lost to K-State, and either ASU loses to its bitter rival Arizona, or BYU falls (again) (1%, 4 Votes)

No. 23 Colorado opens as a 16.5-point home favorite over Oklahoma State (Friday, 10:00 a.m., MT, ABC). Thoughts?
  • Did you notice that OSU started a freshman QB last weekend, and scored 48 points (and Ollie Gordon went for 153 and three scores)? Look past the Cowboys at your own peril, they have nothing to lose (61%, 130 Votes)
  • I see the Buffs winning, and winning comfortably, but it won't be easy to start. With an early kickoff, and a cold morning (around freezing at kickoff), another slow start by CU will keep it close (27%, 57 Votes)
  • A big number, but I think the Buffs will cover and win going away. CU has a title berth to play for; OSU is playing out the string. Angry Buffs in a rout (12%, 27 Votes)

Kansas 37, No. 16 Colorado 21. Thoughts?
  • The Jayhawks scored on its first seven drives (and would have gone eight-for-eight if they needed another score). A very sad effort by the CU defense (45%, 136 Votes)
  • The Buffs still have a great deal to play for, including a possible Big 12 title berth. I know the haters will love this result, but an 8-3 record is still the envy of much of the country (34%, 103 Votes)
  • I do appreciate the Buffs fighting back from a 17-0 deficit to make it a 23-21 game in the third quarter. It's been a great run, and there are still great goals ahead for this team. Shake it off (21%, 60 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
