ESPN has Colorado's "Newcomer Class" (Recruiting Class of 2025 + transfers) as the No. 12 in the nation. Thoughts?
  • This just goes to show how far the program has come under Coach Prime. Buff fans are worried about not getting more transfers, yet, on a national scale, CU is still upgrading the roster (54%, 80 Votes)
  • Great news! Only two Big 12 schools made the list, with Texas Tech's attempt to buy a conference title the only higher ranked Class. Well done, Coach Prime & Staff! (29%, 43 Votes)
  • Kind of find this hard to believe. CU still doesn't have a quality replacement running back or linebacker, with big holes still to be filled. Not sure I'm buying this high a national ranking (17%, 25 Votes)

If you were to post your own post-spring practices preseason Top 25, would you include Colorado?
  • Perhaps not now, but I wouldn't count out the Buffs. Coach Prime has led CU into the Top 25 in both of his first two seasons ... and I wouldn't bet against him doing it again in Year Three (61%, 83 Votes)
  • Sorry, but no. Without Travis and Shedeur, and without a strong Transfer Portal class to shore up weaknesses, the Buffs have some work to do to crack the Top 25 this fall (33%, 45 Votes)
  • Definitely. CU finished with a No. 25 national ranking to end the 2024 season, and has a strong lineup returning - and seven home games. CU deserves to start the season in the Top 25 (6%, 9 Votes)

Which of the following negative statements about the CU roster do you feel is the most problematic for the Buffs this fall?
  • The offensive line couldn't protect Shedeur, and couldn't open running lanes - and nothing's changed. Last in the nation in rushing; 124th in sacks - and untested coaches (45%, 60 Votes)
  • The Buff rushing attack was last in the nation in 2024 ... and hasn't improved. Without an infusion of transfer talent from an unknown source, the rushing attack will (again) be a liability (28%, 37 Votes)
  • CU had two good linebackers in 2024 ... and have none in 2025. The Buff coaches have whiffed on potential transfers, and have no proven returning talent (27%, 36 Votes)

CU given 18:1 odds to win the Big 12 - tenth in the conference. Thoughts?
  • Too much disrespect for the Buffs. CU finished tied for the league lead last year, the No. 25 team in the nation. Underestimate Coach Prime at your own risk. This team will be a contender (42%, 43 Votes)
  • Sounds about right. If last year showed us anything, it's that the Big 12 is wide open, and will come down to the final weekend. CU will be good, but good enough to win the conference? Not sure (38%, 39 Votes)
  • Considering where CU was just a few years ago, to even be tenth in the conference in odds is an improvement. Just glad that other teams are looking up at the Buffs (20%, 21 Votes)

Report: President to create commission on college athletics, led by Nick Saban. Thoughts?
  • It's about time. We're already living in a world where teams are buying titles, and the Big Ten/SEC had 26 first round picks to the Big 12/ACC's four. National guardrails are needed now (46%, 64 Votes)
  • Not to get too political here, but do fans really want the federal government steering the future of collegiate athletics. The stakeholders need to come together on their own, not through Washington (37%, 52 Votes)
  • It's hard not to notice the irony of Nick Saban being mentioned as a possible leader. Alabama took full advantage of the NCAA's lack of control, and we now want the Crimson Tide's coach in charge? (17%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
