It's time! Your prediction for Colorado v. Cincinnati (Saturday, 8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN)
  • The line is 5.5-points for a reason. The Bearcats are a quality team, and will give the Buffs a real fight. CU wins in the end, but I'm not sure that they will beat the spread (46%, 100 Votes)
  • This is going to a great night. The Buffs are putting it all together, and have the momentum to get the CU to a sixth win and bowl eligibility. Buffs win going away! (41%, 88 Votes)
  • The last time CU played a complete game (against UCF on the road), they came home and lost to Kansas State. Odd to say this, but the Buffs need to prove they can win at home ... Cincinnati in an upset (13%, 28 Votes)

Which of the following Big 12 games this weekend for you holds the most interest?
  • No. 11 BYU at UCF (1:30 p.m., MT, ESPN). The Cougars are undefeated, while the Knights have lost four in a row (starting with CU). And yet, UCF is favored ... that is sooooo Big 12 (69%, 134 Votes)
  • Texas Tech at TCU (1:30 p.m., MT, Fox). CU's next road game is Texas Tech, which has two road games (next v. ISU) before facing CU. Three straight losses for Tech before facing the Buffs? (30%, 58 Votes)
  • West Virginia at Arizona (5:00 p.m., MT, FS1). Two 3-4 teams who won a combined 19 games last season. Which team can keep their bowl hopes alive, and which will face an uncertain November? (1%, 3 Votes)

Which of the following numbers concerning the CU/Cincinnati game to you are the most "eye-brow raising"?
  • That both Colorado and Cincinnati are 5-2, with 3-1 records in Big 12 play. Not bad - kind of shocking, actually - that two teams which went a combined 2-16 in conference play last year are 6-2 now (38%, 90 Votes)
  • That Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby is 14th in the nation in passing, and the Bearcats are 24th nationally in scoring. Cincinnati has a better offense than I expected (33%, 80 Votes)
  • That Colorado is 13th in the nation in sacks, and 38th in the nation in third down defense. Numbers which are a far cry from anything we've seen from the Buffs in years (29%, 69 Votes)

ESPN rates both Colorado (5-2, 3-1) and Cincinnati (5-2, 3-1) as "long shots" in the Big 12 race. Thoughts?
  • I'm just glad to be in a fall where we are a week before Halloween, and my Buffs are still relevant in the world of college football. Life is good! (44%, 104 Votes)
  • Sounds about right. Both teams are good, but have flaws. Saturday night in Boulder is a Big 12 elimination game - which makes this game all the more enticing (33%, 77 Votes)
  • I'm not reading anything about bowls or other future possibilities until CU gets to six wins. We've had these hopes crushed before, so don't jinx anything! (23%, 54 Votes)

5430 Alliance announces partnership with Taco Bell. Thoughts?
  • I don't like the world of collegiate sports we are living in right now, but, if the NCAA is a non-existent body for enforcement, I guess we have to get as many dollars as we can into the program (47%, 97 Votes)
  • Great news! If CU is going to compete in the brave new world of NIL and paid players, this type of investment is crucial for the Buffs to remain competitive (37%, 75 Votes)
  • Be interested to see the fine print of the contract. Is this a short term deal, which expires when Shedeur and Travis leave? Is there an out clause for Taco Bell if Coach Prime leaves? (16%, 33 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
