The Big 12 game which holds the most interest this weekend ...
  • No. 20 Oklahoma State at No. 23 Kansas State. Not only are the Wildcats CU's next opponent, but the loser of this game may fall out of the Big 12 championship race (68%, 125 Votes)
  • No. 22 BYU at Baylor. Despite the fact that the Cougars are ranked and undefeated, the Bears are favored. What's going on here? (18%, 34 Votes)
  • Arizona at No. 10 Utah. Will Cam Rising play? Arizona is coming off a 31-7 loss to KSU and a bye - are the Wildcats the ranked team they were in preseason? Or will the Utes expose Arizona as a fraud? (14%, 26 Votes)

UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka leaves team over disputed NIL deal. Thoughts?
  • I'm with the teammates on this one. UNLV is undefeated, and is nationally ranked (coaches poll). The Rebels have a legitimate shot at the G5 opening in the College Football Playoff. A tough day (40%, 89 Votes)
  • I'm with the player on this one. It sounds like promises were made and not kept. If Sluka's NFL prospects are slim, this is his one chance to make some money from his athletic abilities (37%, 82 Votes)
  • I'm with the team on this one. Whether (verbal) promises were made or not, the quarterback made a commitment to his coaches and his teammates. NIL is ruining the sport (23%, 50 Votes)

CU receives a commitment from three-star defensive back Antonio Branch. Thoughts?
  • Happy that Coach Prime and staff can get plenty of skill position players, but until or unless they can prove they can recruit and develop lineman, CU will continue to struggle for wins (38%, 85 Votes)
  • The Recruiting Class of 2025 only has eight members, but I like that the number is ticking up. Helps me believe Coach Prime will stay (putting his house in Texas up for sale helps, too!) (31%, 69 Votes)
  • Love this commit! Branch is just this side of a four-star ranking (89 at 247 Sports; 90 is considered four-star). Also like the offer sheet, and that Branch flipped from Penn State to CU (31%, 68 Votes)

CU's record this season after four games is the same as last season's record, 3-1. Thoughts?
  • North Dakota State, CSU, and Baylor were, on paper, three of CU's easiest games - and they weren't easy wins. This team still has some work to do to convince me that they are going bowling this fall (43%, 119 Votes)
  • The opportunity is there for some victories, and there is the fear that there will be losses to those same teams. Will CU take advantage and win close games? The wild ride will continue (40%, 110 Votes)
  • Apples and oranges. This team has more depth, more quality players, and an easier schedule going forward than last year. CU won't repeat last year's slide (17%, 46 Votes)

CU opens as a 13.5-point road underdog to Central Florida (Saturday, 1:30 p.m., MT, Fox). Thoughts?
  • That's a typo, right? If you told me CU was a 3.5-point underdog, or even a touchdown underdog, I would believe it. But two touchdowns? Vegas hasn't been watching the Buffs - CU can win this game! (46%, 132 Votes)
  • Probably about right. Considering how much the Buffs have struggled to protect Shedeur, and how well UCF has been playing, I can see the Buffs keeping it close ... but not winning (31%, 91 Votes)
  • This is a bad matchup for CU. Central Florida has a big mobile quarterback. KJ Jefferson could have a field day against the Buffs. Probably an ugly loss for the Buffs (23%, 67 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
