It's time! Your prediction for Colorado (+7.5) at Nebraska (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., MT, NBC)
- The Buffs are much improved, and have a first-round draft pick at quarterback v. a freshman QB playing his second game. Buffs (again) shock the Cornhuskers and take home a big win (37%, 93 Votes)
- This is going to be a good game. I expect both offenses to score, and for the lead to go back and forth. Not sure if the Buffs win, but I'll take CU and the points (37%, 92 Votes)
- Let's be honest. The Buffs were less than impressive v. NDSU, and the Cornhuskers will play like this is their Super Bowl. Hate to say it, but I see Nebraska winning and covering (26%, 65 Votes)

Which matchup to you will be the most important in deciding the outcome of the CU/Nebraska game?
- The CU offensive line v. the Nebraska defensive line. If the line can create holes for the running backs, and protect Shedeur, it could be a long evening for the Blackshirts (64%, 158 Votes)
- The CU defensive line v. the Nebraska offensive line. If the CU line can't stop the run or generate a pass rush, Dylan Raiola will look like a world-beater (23%, 58 Votes)
- Coach Prime v. Coach Rhule. Matt Rhule has proven he can rebuild a program; Coach Prime still has to prove himself. Game plans and in-game adjustments will decide this game (13%, 31 Votes)

CBS Sports has Colorado as its No. 54 team nationally (11th in the Big 12). Thoughts?
- Probably about right. How many other 4-8 teams from 2023 who opened with a win which was less than dominant are ranked in top half of their conference? I'm guessing not many (46%, 91 Votes)
- All you need to know is that CSU lost to Texas, 52-0, and actually went up two spots on the CBS list. National media knows the Top 25, and little else (37%, 73 Votes)
- Way too low, both nationally and in the Big 12. I guess the Buffs will just have to take care of business on Saturday, and see what the pundits think of CU then (17%, 33 Votes)
Start Date: September 4, 2024 @ 5:28 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Coach Prime had Camden "The Governor" Dempsey get up in front of the team to talk about the history of the CU/NU rivalry. Thoughts?
- Love it! Even with a number of holdovers from last year, it's important for the new players to understand exactly how important this game is to the fans - and how fired up the Cornhuskers will be (42%, 95 Votes)
- Good idea, but it should only be the start. There are plenty of former Buffs (including some in the Champions Center) who should be talking to the team every day. This game can't be undersold (39%, 89 Votes)
- Shouldn't be necessary. If these players can't get up for a game on national television, with 90,000 screaming fans cheering against them, then no speeches will help get them ready for Lincoln (19%, 44 Votes)
Start Date: September 3, 2024 @ 4:55 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Joel Klatt: Colorado has two elite players, but the same old problems. Thoughts?
- Not an overreaction. If not for Shedeur and Travis, CU would have lost to an FCS team, and facing a bleak 2024 season ... not to mention being skewered in the national media this week (49%, 142 Votes)
- Nothing to see here. Klatt had CU with eight or nine wins, so he's just trying to establish some cover if the Buffs don't come through. If CU beats Nebraska, Klatt will be back in CU's corner (32%, 93 Votes)
- An overreaction. Yes, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are elite talents, but to say that CU hasn't improved its level of talent and has the same old problems is a stretch (19%, 57 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
