What revelation from the CU Depth Chart do you find to be the most surprising?
  • That Tyler Lytle and Blake Stenstrom are listed as co-backups at quarterback. It will be interesting to see who comes in late in games, or if Steven Montez is injured (46%, 135 Votes)
  • That sophomore Brady Russell was listed as the No. 1 tight end, ahead of graduate transfer Jalen Harris (41%, 121 Votes)
  • That Tim Lynott is listed as starting center and Colby Pursell is listed as the starting right guard - instead of the other way around (13%, 37 Votes)

The Pac-12 has a tie-in to the Hyundai Sun Bowl, which has been renamed the "Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl". Thoughts?
  • Call me when CU actually is in the running for a bowl again ... then I will start to care what the bowl's name might be (74%, 210 Votes)
  • Fine with it ... The conference has had a tie-in to the "Cheez-It Bowl", and no harm came of it (22%, 61 Votes)
  • Are you kidding me? It would be hard enough to get Buff fans to El Paso ... but for the Frosted Flakes Bowl? Oh, the horror! (4%, 11 Votes)

Which quote from Tuesday do you find to be the most encouraging - ten days out from the Rocky Mountain Showdown?
  • OT Will Sherman: "I know with (graduate transfer tackle) Arlington (Hambright) here, Steven Montez is going to feel a lot more comfortable in the pocket, our run game is going to elevate" (78%, 230 Votes)
  • Safety Sam Noyer: "If that's me playing safety, if that's me playing quarterback, if that's me playing special teams, receiver β€” whatever it is, I just want what's best for the team" (13%, 37 Votes)
  • Darrin Chiaverini: "I like what I'm seeing out of K.D. He's a leader. He won't let those guys slip up. It's a different mindset with these kids. There's a lot more competition, too" (9%, 26 Votes)

The Associated Press preseason poll has been released. What stands out to you?
  • That six of CU's opponents are ranked, and nine of 12 received votes. This just serves to underline how difficult CU's schedule is this fall (44%, 137 Votes)
  • Sorry, but it means nothing to me. When the Buffs open 5-0 (again) and are ranked (again) ... that's when I'll start caring about national rankings (31%, 98 Votes)
  • That the AP writers ranked Nebraska 24th. What a joke! A 4-8 with basically the same roster returning ... glad the Buffs get a chance to put the Corn back in its place! (25%, 77 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? πŸ™‚
