It's time! Your prediction for No. 18 Kansas State at Colorado (8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN)
  • This is a game between evenly matched teams, which in and of itself is a sign of progress for the program. If this was a road game, I'd take KSU, but at home? A close CU win (48%, 102 Votes)
  • CU has yet to play a ranked team; KSU has played two - and beaten them both. KSU can run, and can stop the run. Buffs competitive, but Wildcats pull away late (18%, 39 Votes)
  • The nation got a glimpse of how good this team can play in CU's rout of UCF. Buffs make a statement that they should be back in the Top 25 win a big win over K-State! (18%, 37 Votes)
  • This game can go either way, and I'm not sure that the Buffs have all the pieces in place. A close game, with a tough ending - KSU wins a very tight game (16%, 33 Votes)

Which of the following Big 12 games this weekend for you holds the most interest?
  • No. 2 Ohio State at No. 3 Oregon (5:30 p.m., MT, NBC). Who are we trying to kid? Other than the CU game, this is the Game of the Week ... perhaps the Game of the Year (61%, 113 Votes)
  • Arizona at No. 14 BYU (Saturday, 2:00 p.m., Fox). The Wildcats are up next for the Buffs, so it will interesting to see if Arizona goes 2-0 v. the Utah schools (32%, 60 Votes)
  • No. 16 Utah at Arizona State (Friday, 8:30 p.m., MT, ESPN). Will Cam Rising play? Is Arizona State for real? An interesting matchup Friday night (7%, 12 Votes)

Thoughts on "Project Rudy", with a 70-team super league which would eliminate games with other FBS and FCS schools
  • I don't like it. Living in a world where App State can't get a shot at Michigan, and Northern Illinois is barred from playing Notre Dame. This will dilute, if not kill, the sport (43%, 79 Votes)
  • Pluses and minuses. If the league is at 70, CU is surely in - but what if they then cut it to 48 or 36? Would CU make the second cut? On the other hand, being rid of CSU forever sounds good (35%, 64 Votes)
  • I like it, provided Colorado is part of the 70-team list, which it almost certainly would. This is the future, may as well get there sooner rather than later, so Olympic sports can get back to normal (22%, 41 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from Coach Prime's weekly press conference do you like the best?
  • "As quick as national media can jump on, they can jump off, so I don’t pay attention … I don’t want our players to believe that they have arrived – don’t believe the hype" (78%, 150 Votes)
  • On redshirts leaving teams: "Are you redshirting for us, or are you redshirting for yourself? If they are redshirting for themselves, they should go. There should be an NCAA rule" (12%, 23 Votes)
  • "Our team shouldn’t be surprised at (CU) being 4-1. How can you be surprised when you put on a new suit, and someone tells you that you look good?" (10%, 19 Votes)

Kickoff time for next Saturday's CU at Arizona game set (2:00 p.m., MT, Fox). Thoughts?
  • Another national game (on Fox). Perhaps another Fox Big Noon game (if Arizona and CU both win this weekend). Win or lose, Coach Prime and the Buffs remain a huge national draw (65%, 143 Votes)
  • I like it. I know that it will be hot in Tucson, but, as a fan not making trip, having a game which doesn't end at midnight is a bonus. Excited to see the Buffs on national TV midday! (24%, 52 Votes)
  • I hate it. CU has a chance to be in every game this fall, so setting a game for mid-afternoon (current forecast for the 19th: 93-degrees at kickoff), is just stupid (11%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
