Star Buff offensive lineman Will Sherman declares for the NFL Draft. Thoughts?
- Actually, this is a positive for the program. CU needs to show that it can recruit and develop NFL talent along the offensive line. Best of luck to Mr. Sherman (and thanks!) (49%, 152 Votes)
- Colorado is ten-for-ten in underclassmen declaring and being drafted. I hope Sherman doesn't break the string (also hope that if he isn't drafted, that the new legislation might let him come back) (27%, 84 Votes)
- A bad weekend for Colorado football. Losing Jason Harris to the transfer portal and Sherman to the NFL. Games are won in the trenches, and CU has lost two good ones (24%, 74 Votes)

Which news item of the day do you find to be the most interesting/surprising?
- That Colorado is last in the Pac-12 in bowl winning percentage (.400; 8-12), with a four-game losing streak dating back to a win in the 2004 Houston Bowl (66%, 100 Votes)
- That no fewer than FIVE Pac-12 teams (including four in the South Division) received a present from BYU - QB Zach Wilson is turning pro (19%, 28 Votes)
- That Arizona has hired a Carroll as its offensive coordinator ... fortunately it's Pete Carroll's son, Brennan (15%, 23 Votes)

Freshman Jason Harris announces that he has put his name into the Transfer Portal. Thoughts?
- Harris can still return to Colorado, but, even if he doesn't, this is just the way the world works these days. As long as CU is active (and successful) in bringing in transfers, we'll call it good (46%, 132 Votes)
- Nothing against the young man, but other true freshmen found their way onto the field. Maybe, just maybe, Harris wasn't as great as he was projected to be by the recruiting analysts (37%, 107 Votes)
- A devastating announcement. One of the top rated recruits out of the Class of 2021, this is not a player CU can afford to lose. Not liking how recruiting is going under Dorrell & Co. (17%, 49 Votes)

Now that the dust has settled (a little bit) on the 2020 season, what is your take on the state of the CU program?
- Certainly satisfied. Very few (if any) had CU with a winning season and a bowl bid. Optimism muted after the bad losses to end the season, but satisfied overall (61%, 211 Votes)
- Very pleased. Raise your hand if you had CU landing the Pac-12 Coach of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year ... that's what I thought. A great year, with optimism for the future (21%, 72 Votes)
- You're only as good as your last game. Concerns about how the Buffs finished the season, and the lower ranked recruiting Class, are legitimate. Fingers crossed, but the trends are not positive (18%, 65 Votes)

No. 20 Texas routs Colorado in the Alamo Bowl. Thoughts?
- I'm just wondering if out of the ashes of another Alamo Bowl rout, the phoenix which will rise will be CU's starting quarterback, Brendon Lewis, for 2021 and beyond (45%, 181 Votes)
- An utter embarrassment. To have a backup quarterback make the Colorado defense look like fools - absurd. The Buffs were out-talented, out-prepared, and out-classed. (28%, 114 Votes)
- It will be hard to remember, but it was a 17-10 game at halftime. Lessons were learned, and will leave the Buffs hungry for the 2021 season. Tough right now, but perspective and patience is required (27%, 107 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
