Considering that any new addition to the roster will mean the loss of a current roster player, which unit to you still needs an upgrade?
- Outside linebacker/Edge rusher. Until or unless CU can get a pass rusher that other defenses are afraid of, this defense will struggle against quality competition (54%, 193 Votes)
- Defensive line. Four new upperclassmen transfers to go with two returning starters is a good start, but more experience and depth are a necessity (20%, 72 Votes)
- Quarterback. The Buffs are one injury away from being in real trouble. It'll be hard, but an experienced backup would be most welcome (13%, 47 Votes)
- Offensive line. Sure, CU has added six transfer lineman (including four-star prospect Yousef Mugharbil from Florida this weekend), but this unit needs serious upgrades (13%, 47 Votes)

With the addition of two four-star transfers (OL Yousef Mugharbil and S Myles Slusher), CU now has the No. 1 Transfer Portal Class in the nation. Thoughts?
- Coach Prime has now officially changed over half of CU's 85-man roster. Just think where we were just over a month ago ... it's an incredible transformation. Thank you Coach Prime & Co.! (58%, 216 Votes)
- I never thought I would live to see CU being ranked No. 1 in any recruiting category (except for perhaps, five-star disappointments). A great day for the Buff Nation! Enjoy! (34%, 125 Votes)
- Well, CU has 20 transfer commits, while every other team which is Top Ten in the rankings other than ASU has fewer than ten. A nice rankings, but it's still mostly based on quantity, not quality (8%, 30 Votes)

Best story of the weekend for Colorado athletics ...
- The CU women taking out previously unbeaten and 8th-ranked Utah Utes. The Buffs were already listed as a No. 10 seed in ESPN Bracketology ... before the win. Well done, Buffs! (37%, 117 Votes)
- Still waiting for the best story. Coach Prime has picked up a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Yousef Mugharbil from Florida ... with hopefully more commitments to come (37%, 116 Votes)
- The CU men taking it to the hated Oregon Ducks in style, never trailing in a 68-41 rout, then taking care of business against Oregon State. Seven wins in past eight games ... liking it (26%, 82 Votes)
Start Date: January 7, 2023 @ 5:47 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which of the following units on defense are most in need of additional commitments before the start of the season?
- Edge rusher/outside linebacker. CU had nine sacks in 2022 - nine! No other team in the nation had fewer. The Buffs have added Jeremiah Brown from Jackson State, but this unit needs to be a priority (55%, 167 Votes)
- Defensive line. CU has two returning starters in Jalen Sami and Na'im Rodman, and already has four transfers, but more star power is needed. CU's run defense has been a real liability (39%, 117 Votes)
- Safeties. Yes, both of last year's starters (Trevor Woods and Tyrin Taylor) return, but this last line of CU's defense remains a liability. An experienced transfer would help (6%, 19 Votes)
Start Date: January 6, 2023 @ 5:20 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Report: Pat Hill, a defensive analyst at LSU, to be hired as CU's defensive line coach. Thoughts?
- Perhaps Hill will be a great recruiter. LSU has a number of four-star recruits in the Transfer Portal - maybe Hill will bring some Louis Vuitton luggage of his own to Boulder (58%, 149 Votes)
- I'm hoping this works out, but Hill's resume is pretty thin. Coach Prime has hired some first rate coordinators, but some of the position coaches .... I have my concerns (21%, 54 Votes)
- Looks like a great hire. He has served as a defensive line coach and a strength and conditioning coach, and has spent last season at LSU. I like this hire! (21%, 53 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
