Sports Illustrated has CU 57th in the nation in its "Desirability Ratings", using a formula to determine realignment values. Thoughts?
  • Not sure that the criteria Sports Illustrated is using are valid, but ratings like this should be a wake up call to CU administrators - you need to sell CU, not sit home waiting for the phone to ring (58%, 95 Votes)
  • Sad to say, but it's probably pretty accurate. CU fans want to hang their hat on the Denver television market, but in today's world, it's about brand, and CU's is down (25%, 41 Votes)
  • Another B.S. story by a national publication. If realignment were all based upon "desirability", then UCLA would not be heading to the Big Ten (17%, 29 Votes)

Which quote from Rick George to you stood out the most?
  • “So everybody is clear, we didn’t lose any team that has appeared in a CFP playoff game". True, but that rings pretty hollow coming from an AD whose school has been a huge Pac-12 disappointment (42%, 69 Votes)
  • "Do I feel confident in our 10? Yes. Could something change? Yes. When something changes, we’ll react to it" ... "React to it"?? Does George think the Big 12 is going to come begging?? (33%, 54 Votes)
  • "I can tell you the ADs are aligned on where we think this needs to go. We’re bullish on the future. We think there’s a lot of strength with the 10 schools". Well, they may be the only ones ... (25%, 42 Votes)

Just curious ... Any interest in attending CU's first trip to play Air Force in Colorado Springs in 50 years?
  • No. One of the following: I won't be in town ... I don't live in Colorado ... I don't want to watch my Buffs lose to a Mountain West team (again) ... Other ... (48%, 96 Votes)
  • Yes. I'm not sure about the outcome, but I am excited about the chance to watch my Buffs in a hostile stadium without having to get on a plane to do so (41%, 81 Votes)
  • Perhaps, but I'm not sure right now. I know I'll have to pay a premium price if I wait, but I want to see how my life unfolds between now in September and/or see how the Buffs fare against TCU (11%, 23 Votes)

Karl Dorrell is given a "pressure is mounting" - one of the eight "hottest" seats in the country. Thoughts?
  • Nope. Another national publication that has no idea what is going on in Boulder. Short of a 2-10 season, Dorrell is not going to be in danger until 2023 at the earliest (56%, 136 Votes)
  • Every coach is hired to be fired, so preseason ratings mean nothing, but I did like the quote: "The one thing you can't be in college football is boring. And CU is booorrring" (28%, 68 Votes)
  • Sounds about right. From 4-2 and Coach of the Year to 4-8 and not impressive. You change out over half of your coaching staff ... the next change is the head coach (16%, 40 Votes)

What is your predication for when will CU's future conference alignment will be settled?
  • In the next month. By opening media negotiations now, Pac-12 teams will have an opportunity to see what the options are for staying together. if that doesn't look attractive, it's time to move on (47%, 113 Votes)
  • Not anytime soon. Nothing (including the defections of USC and UCLA) will go into effect until 2024. Patience is more important now that a quick solution. CU needs to take it slow and get it right (43%, 103 Votes)
  • Very soon. There is a pause while everyone catches their breath, but schools like CU understand that it's time to get a permanent home before the music stops (10%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
