CU home game themes set: Black out (TCU); Gold rush (UCLA); and White out (Cal). Thoughts?
  • I like it. It's already going to be hard enough to get fans in the stands this fall. Giving fans another reason to get up for the games is a good idea (52%, 75 Votes)
  • I'm just glad that the "Striped stadium" and the "Checkerboard" options were scrapped. It'll be hard enough to get fans to participate - CU can't expect the fans to have to think (31%, 44 Votes)
  • Not a fan. CU should spend more time (and money) on the fan experience (sound system; bathrooms; Balch Fieldhouse) instead of relying on gimmicks (17%, 24 Votes)

All in all done. The CU at the Game NIL Podcast Interview comes to a close. Thoughts?
  • I'm just hoping that this is just the beginning, and that the likes of Kelli Brooks and Jeremy Dougherty will come through with a CU Collective (and soon) (44%, 53 Votes)
  • Nice, but, if we're being honest, it's just a drop in the bucket of what is needed. CU - both the administration and its fan base - are falling far short in the new age of college football (28%, 34 Votes)
  • It was a good concept, and a good payday for the players. Nice to hear from the players in an extended format, and nice to get them some monetary recognition (28%, 33 Votes)

Which of the following quotes from Lindy's preseason magazine do you find it easiest to agree with?
  • The 2022 campaign could be more of the same (where the Buffs finished near the bottom nationally in total offense) if the influx of new offensive players cannot engineer a dramatic turnaround (45%, 57 Votes)
  • While light on returning starters , the CU defense is not lacking for experience and boasts one of the Pac-12’s most talented defensive lines. (33%, 42 Votes)
  • Ranking CU 83rd in the nation, 6th the Pac-12 South (just behind No. 82 Arizona): Could surprise like in ’20, but last season’s backslide is a bad sign (22%, 28 Votes)

How would you rate your level of apathy towards the Colorado football program this off-season?
  • High. The Buffs have been unable to get out of a funk which is approaching two decades, and the CU administration has not proven capable of leading the Buffs out of the funk (35%, 51 Votes)
  • Low. I'm voting in a poll on a CU website in the middle of June. If I were apathetic about my Buffs, would I be here on this site? (35%, 51 Votes)
  • Medium. It's been a rough off-season, but once Fall Camp opens and the pads are back on, my interest will be renewed (30%, 44 Votes)

Which recent news to you is the most likely to prompt a heavy sigh ...
  • That Colorado, in part due to a revolving door through the Transfer Portal, has the 11th lowest APR score in the Pac-12 in football; 10th in men's basketball (43%, 60 Votes)
  • That USC has announced a partnership with media company that will exclusively serve USC athletes to assist with NIL opportunities. At CU? ... (42%, 58 Votes)
  • That Utah has announced a contract extension with Kyle Whittingham. Utah has taken advantage of its Pac-12 opportunity. Meanwhile, CU has had four coaches since joining the Pac-12 (15%, 21 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
