Which of the following to you is the most important contributing factor to CU's 2-3 record?
- Coaching ... The game plan is predictable; the in game adjustments are non-existent. These coaches may have been great players, but they are not great coaches. CU is being out-coached every weekend (69%, 135 Votes)
- Talent ... The linebacker corps is a liability; the defensive backs can't cover; Salter is indecisive; the defensive line is a huge disappointment, no go-to wide receiver or running back, etc., etc. (16%, 31 Votes)
- Leadership ... Shedeur and Travis aren't walking through the door, and no one has stepped up to take their place. No accountability in the locker room leads to deficiencies on the field (15%, 29 Votes)

CU opens as a 14.5-point road underdog to TCU (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., MT, Fox). Thoughts?
- Just a sad commentary on the state of CU football that the Buffs are right back to where they were the last time they went to TCU to start the 2023 season ... huge underdogs (42%, 75 Votes)
- Sounds about right. TCU was a ranked team until their tough loss to Arizona State Friday night, and CU was mauled the last time the Buffs went to the Lone Star State. At least we'll get to bed early (31%, 56 Votes)
- Not sure I understand the line. BYU was a 6.5-point favorite, and CU should have won. Now TCU is a 14.5-point favorite? Not necessarily predicting a Buff win, but a cover? Definitely (27%, 47 Votes)

No. 25 BYU 24, Colorado 21. Thoughts?
- This really hurts. The Buffs had every opportunity to knock off a ranked team, but came up short in three fourth quarter possessions. A tough loss in every respect (49%, 91 Votes)
- The Buffs had 188 yards of total offense in the first half; 103 in the second. Meanwhile, CU's defense fell victim to another running quarterback. Same song; different verse. Another loss (45%, 83 Votes)
- CU's lack of depth on the defensive side of the ball came back to haunt the Buffs. CU was playing with too many backups along the defensive line and secondary to keep BYU from posting the win (6%, 10 Votes)

It's time. Your prediction for No. 25 BYU at Colorado (8:15 p.m., MT, ESPN):
- Depending on how you look at it, it's either going to be a long night (with CU struggling) or a short night (Buff fans leave early), as BYU takes care of business at Folsom (46%, 66 Votes)
- It's nice that BYU crept into the Top 25 this week. A big win for the Buffs will help to give CU a nice boost in the eyes of the nation. Buffs take out the Cougars late on Saturday night! (38%, 55 Votes)
- It's a 6.5-point spread for the Cougars, making BYU about a 10-point favorite at a neutral site. Buffs keep it close, but lose a heart-breaker (16%, 24 Votes)

CU has five defensive linemen on its "questionable", "doubtful" or "out" injury list. Thoughts?
- Bad news. BYU is 7th in the nation in rushing offense, and CU is already 121st in rushing defense. This doesn't bode well for CU's chances on Saturday (53%, 88 Votes)
- Next man up. As I recall, the Buff defensive line was supposed to be the deepest and most talented unit on the team. Time for that depth to show itself (37%, 61 Votes)
- Not super concerned. Injury reports are new, and seem like they are works of fiction. I'm sure several defensive linemen will be out, but I wouldn't be surprised if several don't play (10%, 17 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
