Should Bill McCartney be considered for Athletic Director?
  • No. Coach Mac burned his bridges in December; a polarizing figure who will turn away as many fans as he brings in (50%, 107 Votes)
  • Yes. Think Tom Osborne at Nebraska. Respected; knows what it takes to create a winner in Boulder (25%, 54 Votes)
  • Maybe. It would be better to have him back in the fold, but perhaps not as AD (25%, 54 Votes)

Should the major conferences be required to go to nine game conference schedules?
  • Yes. There needs to be a level playing field for playoff selection (56%, 122 Votes)
  • No. Each conference can do as it pleases (and the Pac-12 should go to eight) (25%, 55 Votes)
  • No opinion. Right now, CU is so far off the radar nationally that it's hard to care (19%, 41 Votes)

My current first choice for next CU Athletic Director
  • George Solich - Businessman; Donor (30%, 70 Votes)
  • Rick George - Texas Rangers President of Business Operations (29%, 66 Votes)
  • Other - None of the above (15%, 34 Votes)
  • Ian McCaw - Baylor Athletic Director (14%, 33 Votes)
  • Tom Bowen - Memphis Athletic Director (12%, 27 Votes)

After letting it sink in a bit, my reaction to the Bohn firing ...
  • Too early to tell. It may not have been working with Bohn, but there is no guarantee of improvement with the next hire (54%, 147 Votes)
  • Good news. Bohn was polarizing and ineffective. Better now than later (27%, 72 Votes)
  • Bad news. CU looks bad - again. Bohn a scapegoat for issues beyond his control (19%, 52 Votes)

Start Date: May 29, 2013 @ 9:57 am
End Date: No Expiry

CU Athletic Director Mike Bohn resigns
  • Facts are facts. Seven straight losing seasons and stalled fundraising will be his legacy (45%, 132 Votes)
  • Football results notwithstanding, he was a good AD. Basketball hires and move to Pac-12 a fine legacy (34%, 100 Votes)
  • CU again makes news for the wrong reasons. I'm already ready to move on and find the next hire (21%, 60 Votes)

Start Date: May 28, 2013 @ 2:02 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
